I was thinking the same... 8??? Does Lebron even have 8? Anyways, Hedo has been getting more love from the media than Mr. superman himself

Posted: Thu Mar 27, 2008 6:46 pmHedo = Hero.
It was an obvious pun, right?
Posted: Thu Mar 27, 2008 6:59 pmTURKISH JORDAN FTW!!!
I still say Gay or Calderon will win it though.
Posted: Thu Mar 27, 2008 7:13 pmThe Magic's success this year just might help Hedo's cause imo.
Posted: Thu Mar 27, 2008 7:16 pmgay will not win it because who else do they have??? and look at their record, no imrpovement...calderon? no because the raptors have actually played worse this year and don't even get me started on kaman...hedo wins it
Posted: Thu Mar 27, 2008 7:51 pmChris Kaman picked Hedo for MIP too...
Posted: Thu Mar 27, 2008 8:19 pmWell, i think he meant 8 double-doubles, thats what Hedo has this season.

Well thats probably what he meant but then he makes the mistake worst by saying that those 8 triple doubles are a team record. He does have the team record for triple doubles in a season with 2, but obviously not the team record in double doubles. He should of caught that.
Posted: Fri Mar 28, 2008 5:16 amDidn't someone say there was a age limit and hedo was over it?
I hope there isnt but thats what i heard

uhh nooooooHowever, Turkoglu has been the X-factor all season and should have been an All-Star. He tied a franchise record with two triple-doubles and has had eight double-doubles; beat the Celtics with a 3-pointer at the buzzer in a huge win, and raised his numbers to career-highs with 19.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 83.4 percent on free throws, 40.7 from 3-point range and 45.3 overall. He has become a star for the Magic, the man with the ball in the clutch, and has responded.

Gay's still a young gun who's finally living upto expectations. there's no reason to consider him most improved. it'd be like rewarding LBJ's improvement from rookie to sophmore.
Calderon is a legit candidate. although, his talent has always been there, it's just been a lack of PT for the guy.
Kaman has played really well in Brand's absence, but hasn't held a torch to the main man... which brings me to...
Hedo! the most deserving who'll get the award because he's earned it, plus, i think the media will try and make up for the all-star snub he received.
although, is it commonly thought of that Hedo was an all-star snub, or just amongst Magic fans?
Posted: Fri Mar 28, 2008 9:03 am^^ There are other candidates Retail,
just look around, maybe at the West and some ex-underdog team like NewOrleans...their season si way better than ours, although heRo deserves some kind of prize for his enourmous contribution this year.

i got respect for you for callin me Retail.
as for other potential MIPs, i'm sure there's other candidates, but i don't see many of them weighing in on the debate. fact is i consider Hedo to be the heads and shoulders winner.
of the other surprise teams, i don't see any of their players making the improvement that Hedo did, while becoming such a major factor in their team's success.
i could be wrong, but i doubt that.
Posted: Fri Mar 28, 2008 1:43 pmWell if Hidayet wins it, he needs to take a plasma cutter to it and give half of it to SVG.

Oh to be young and gay, j/k. I agree, Gay shouldn't be considered because he's still an infant in this league. It really comes down to Calderon and Hedo imo. Plus, this is where you should consider team wins. Its a much tougher argument to make that your the MIP if your not helping your team win games. Also, how do you go from obscurity to getting a nickname of Mr. fourth quarter without getting some accolades from the league?

Kevin in New Jersey: Hey, I know Chris Bosh has been hurt this season, but are you really trying to say you'd rather have Hedo Turkoglu over him?
Brooks: Hedo is having a career season for a team that is in first place in its division. Bosh is having a decent season for a team that is losing ground in the playoff race and has no chance of winning its division. Do yourself a favor and check out Hedo's stats, they may surprise you.
