Police said the abductor changed into scrubs inside the hospital, making her resemble a hospital worker. She attempted to take a baby from the nursery but was confronted by parents and stopped.

She then took another child, setting off an alarm, but she was able to leave the building without being caught. The hospital was on lockdown for a time, but that was lifted mid-afternoon after police concluded the suspect had most likely already left the building.

Police were able to get a partial license tag and a description of the vehicle, and from that they obtained a driver's license photo of the owner. They compared that to the abductor, who had been photographed on a hospital security camera, and saw it was the same person.

Crazy right? Good thing they caught the lady soo fast. Seems to me from the pics, she had a stroller and a new box for a baby shower thing in her car, seems to me like this lady woke up one day and said i want a new baby so she went to the store bought a bunch of baby stuff and then proceeded to go to the hospital and kidnap the baby. Thankfully the baby is safe.

Wow. I work at a hospital in Melbourne and we've only had one code pink (infant abduction) since I've worked there and even though it ended up being a misunderstanding, the whole hospital was going pretty nuts. Had an employee at every single possible exit.

Just makes you wonder about people...

I remember a story a couple years ago of a couple who had a baby boy so put baby blue balloons on the mail box. then some crazy lady came, stabbed the mother who answered the door and ran inside and got the baby. I believe the father caught her but that's so messed up it's ridiculous

Wow......stories like these are why my wife and I went with a midwife. I can understand complicated pregnancies and/or emergencies but the vast majority of pregnancies should not be medical affairs.

Anyone hear about that lady who was obsessed with having a baby (but couldn't), looked up a name on a baby registry and called the lady up and said that her gifts had been shipped to her house? So the lady goes over to this person's house and the woman proceeds to stab her repeatedly and was going to go as far as forcefully taking the baby from her womb!

Luckily, the lady was able to escape the home and call for help.

People are insane.

When the suspect reached the nursery at about 1:40 p.m., dressed in hospital scrubs, she tried to take one infant but was confronted by that child's parents, Sanford police Chief Brian Tooley said.

"She backed off and took a second child," he said.

But her sister, Penny Barnard, told television reporters Friday that Latham had led the family to believe she was expecting a child, her third, any day. The family had prepared by buying baby clothes and accessories, she said.

Crazy, the woman lied to their family and had them convince that she was gonna give birth soon. They even had baby clothes and other stuff for a baby. What a psycho.

And mezzy, it was in the Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford hospital where this happend, and she was caught in I-4 by Lake Mary. She gave up peacefully thankfully.

Incredible, woman is about to be released after kidnapping a baby not even 24 hours ago, someone fire this idiot judge:

A judge just ordered 39-year-old Jennifer Latham released from custody, but she has to wear a device on her ankle so authorities can keep track of her movements.

Latham was arrested Friday and charged with kidnapping a newborn child from Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford. An alarm went off and a Lake Mary police officer pulled Latham over on Interstate 4 a little more than an hour later. The baby boy was in the car and was unharmed.

The hearing was held Saturday morning at the Seminole County Jail. Latham, who kept her face covered with her long hair during the proceedings, said she didn't have a lawyer and will get a public defender. She did not have to pay a bond and will be set free under a pre-trial release program. She still has to get an ankle monitor before she can be released.

Her next hearing is on April 29.

Funny you mention that, this was the same judge who yelled at a deaf guy in court then got mad when the guy didn't respond and threw him in jail for a small amount of weed
