Magic's contracts

Post#1 » by MoMM » Sat Mar 29, 2008 6:42 pm

Did we exercise Team Option on JJ's, Foyle's and Gortat's contracts for next season?

We have for JJ....not sure about the other two. Foyle will probably be a wait and see with how the offseason pans out.

The Magic picked up the option on Redick for the next two seasons.

I believe that Foyle is a player option and Gortat is a Team option.

Foyle is so cheap he will be brought back. And Gortat is in the middle of a training year. He will be brought next year to teast his in-game abilities (just like Augustine got two years).

Yea it seems Auggie will be gone after this season. Marcin and Adonal should both be back next season. Hopefully when Marcin gets his chance next year he is able to keep consistent playing time and doesn't lose it like Auggie did.

www.storytellerscontracts.com has Foyle as a Player Option. That is where I get my contract info. Sorry if I quoted a false sorce.

Don't forget that Gortat effectively replaces Garrity. With Battie and Foyle grabbing almost all bench minutes at the PF and the C, Marcin looks to have a JJ-type second season.

Given his buyout with GSW, no team will be able to give Foyle a larger salary (a larger contract simply means GSW pays less of Foyle's salary capped at the buyout level). And thus, there is no benefit, and great risk, to opting out.

Plus, Orlando is winning.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of Web site is storytellerscontracts.com -- and how did you find it? I'm just interested because I haven't heard of it before, and I always like to keep up with potential sources of information.

I never suggested that he would opt out I was only correcting what I thought was a post error. Someone said he was a team option I was under the understanding that he was a Player option thats all.

You are right, he would be best served to resign unless a better team comes a callin'. Unlikely though.

I dont really know to be honest but it was being used as a cited source by many in the Trade Forums for a while and I just adopted it as my contract sourse. It has been very reliable.
