New Supersonics name and jersey for OKC!

Okay after looking at the thread about the new Magic Jerseys next year, I decided to try my hand at designing a new jersey and color scheme for the Sonics, as Clay Bennett has said that they will not be taking the name nor the color scheme with them to OKC. I thought about what colors are highly under utilized in the NBA today and brown was the most neglected color I could think of. I also stayed clear of using any of the Sonics colors besides white. The color scheme I choose is based off of the Wyoming brown and Oklahoma State orange (I know it's the Cleveland Browns colors). I took the liberty with the name of course. The jerseys lost a little quality when I scaled them down, but who cares, I just wanted to see what you guys thought. To view the image a little higher quality visit:

A bit too plain, but I appreciate the effort. "twisters" sounds very ghey tough. Plus orange and brown go together as good as dog crap on pasta (not that I've tried it).

How about mixing one color with something else, like orange and black for example. Nice try though, I'd like to read Devin's opinion since he's an (ex?) Oklahoma resident.

That's pretty damn good, I'm not crazy about the Brown but still nobody is going to love a jersey.. but yeah it's pretty original, good stuff.

well when I heard they were possibly going to go with another name for the team, I knew they HAD to do something tornado related considering Moore county has the highest concentration of tornado activity in a year, My company works there every season cleaning up the mess...

I'm not sure about the name, but as far as the colors go, a combination of Red,Black Silver and White would be nice...

I don't really care for the "Twisters" personally.

Besides, Oklahoma already has a USBL team called the Storm, and they've already got the tornado logo down.

The jerseys look alright, but I'd suggest a slight change that I think would make a huge difference as far as acceptance would go.

I've always thought that if they were to scrap all the old stuff and go for an entirely new look that they should adopt "Oklahoma colors".

In Oklahoma it's basically OU or OSU: Crimson or Orange.

I think that using those two colors would make for a unique color scheme for an NBA team and it would add to the Oklahoma ties.

Also, on a somewhat related note, I don't think that they should be called the Oklahoma City ______, but rather the Oklahoma ________, sort of like the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves as opposed to Salt Lake City, and Minneapolis.

Anyhow, that's just my two cents. Those look pretty good though.

White and Orange is siiiick. I think they should use the color scheme that osu cowboys use. Orange and black looks tight.

not necessarily the same color "patterns" but orange and black/white is tight. Ive always loved the cowboys jerseys

I don't know if this is racist, but how would brown look on African-American athletes?

Not very good, I imagine.

However, I really like the font and the way the "Oklahoma City" kind of curves around itself. Nice twister logo on the jersey, too. The numbers and letters get a little lost on the orange, too.

Why haven't you made a mock-up of a new Magic jersey? I would, but I don't know any good (free) paint-like applications for a Mac.

Sitting here trying to think of a few alternate names OKC might come up with besides dealing with tornados.

Oklahoma comes from two indian words meaning "red people" so perhaps the Reds? Indians? People might get angry with using indian names though.

The state animal is bison. So the Oklahoma City Bison wouldn't be too bad.

Oklahoma is a pretty big oil state, so maybe something to do with mining or drilling? Oilers? Miners?

Then of course they could always go with something that doesn't make sense. The Oklahoma City Frankensteins!

Tumbleweeds!

It not only talks about the culture, but references their new nomadic ways!

I kid, I kid.

After going to thier state website. I think Pioneers would be a good name. They have a very large native american population so an Indian name may work as well. They have alot of different tribes of Indians so The Oklahoma Tribe might work. The colors should probally be orange.

I made them in Flash and Photoshop. It easier to use (for me) than illustrator. If you want the flash jersey template, I'll send it to you.
