new magic uniform!

Post#1 » by thepritz » Wed Apr 2, 2008 4:22 pm

The Orlando Magic have started the process of redesigning their blue, silver and white uniforms, and the process could be completed in time for next season, Magic Chief Operating Officer Alex Martins told FLORIDA TODAY.

The uniform would be the fourth model in franchise history and could coincide with the 20-year anniversary of the franchise next season.

"I can confirm that we have a new model in design now," Martins said Tuesday night before the Magic hosted the New Orleans Hornets. "There's a chance the new design might not be done in time for next season, but we are in the design process now." -- Florida Today

How long can it take to make, choose a design and have it approved by the NBA? Martins make it seem like it will take years lol.

As long as we don't get D-League jerseys like the Hawks and Bobcats.

Are we still going to have the homosexual logo though?

The ball is the only nice part of the logo, the "Magic" is just god awful.

I dont see them changing the logo for the jersey.. I would really like to see the 'Orlando' part from the pinstripe jerseys on the new ones.. and does "blue, silver, and white" mean were adding a silver jersey? I dont think ive ever seen one

The Spurs had an alternate silver uniform... I think it was a throwback to the old ABA unis.

Finally these jerseys we have now are so lame, my high school jersey had more going on. Bring back the pin stripes, maybe something like what washington is doing with the two tone unis.

Silver jerseys usually don't translate very well. The Spurs and Nets both tried this, and I thought they came off looking more gun-metal gray -- really drab. It bothers me that they don't mention the black. I guess that means the black pinstripes are out.

I think gray can work but only if they dont do use the shiny gray frabic that looks like cheap space suit material. That shinyness is what makes it looks ugly. Dallas and SA both used that shiny plastic looking fabric and the results were terrible, thankfully they did away with those.

Agreed, they're awful. They look like a mismatched outfit you'd see at your local Footlocker.

Disappointed about the lack of black but oh well. There's plenty of years of Magic bball to come with plenty of new jerseys down the road. Hopefully we still get the pinstripes back though.

The thing about the blue -- which, by the way was my favorite color long before the Magic existed -- is every team in the league now seems to be making blue their color. You can't tell the Magic from the Mavs, Wizards, or a few other teams now. Even if they aren't the exact same blue the Magic are using, it's some shade of blue.

Sorry man, going to have to agree with prorl. Those Wiz jerseys look like something a high school team would wear...like 10 years ago.

Two tone unis just dont work it basketball, it doesnt look right. When the Bulls had a 2 toner alternate a couple of years ago, i think it was blue and red, they looked awful. They can pull it off in baseball, football, soccer, etc. but in basketball unis they look awful.
