OT: Bengals or Bungles?

Post#1 » by happypedro12 » Fri Apr 4, 2008 12:12 am

So I'm probably the only Bengals fan on this board, but we don't have a game till Sat and its a little slow so i figure wtf. If anyone heard, ocho cinco isn't happy in cincy because he feels unwanted and now Chris Henry was just released for misconduct. The Bengals have always gone after reckless talent (aj nicholson, odell thurman, henry, etc) so do you think releasing Henry is the right direction as far as team image goes? Last year we took very high character guys, and we just signed Ben Utect who is a devout christian. I think them releasing Henry so swiftly shows that they are trying to turn their image around and focus soley on winning.
Whether you think you CAN or you think you CAN'T, you're right.

I dk if it's the right direction b/c he's really good but I just think if chad keeps making noise they gotta do something. He's embarrassing himself on espn everyday with crazy interviews so it's obvious he hates marvin lewis like crazy so i dk what they are going to do.

But for all the trouble chad johnson makes, just keep in mind he's never gotten in trouble off the field like most of his teammates, he may be a little selfish on the field but he does care about winning. He's just doing it the wrong way.
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

I just got off the phone with one of my fantasy football buddies and we were talking about this very thing. They had to release Henry. The guy is a complete thug. He has been arrested five times in the last 18 months. Cinci also lost Tab Perry to Miami recently. Chad is in the drivers seat now. He will either get a new deal or he will get his trade. The Cowboys keep trying to get Roy Williams from my Lions, but they won't budge. And since they have already went for T.O., and recently Pacman Jones, I can see them getting Chad very easily. He's not had off the field trouble, but when a guy starts referring to himself in the third person, your in trouble. But to answer your original question, .....the Bungles. They keep under-performing every year.

I guess i just posted this to hear that, but F*$* that. 2005, palmer is assasinated in the playoffs and has reconstructive knee surgery. Last year was just bad luck with injuries. Chris Perry has been injured and then Kenny Irons was injured in preseason. Rich Braham retired last year, so there goes CP's center since he's been a pro, and on top of all that our entire Defense, soft as it is, was completely decimated. when we played NE in week 4 we had 2 linebackers active. 2!!!! F that, Us and the Steelers are the only 2 teams to win the division in the past 5 years, and as soon as Sedrick Ellis falls to no. 9 in the draft, Ahmad Brooks comes back from groin surgery, and Ocho realizes that CP is pretty much the best QB not named Brady or Manning, We're winning the division. Please don't say anything about the Browns, they choked last year to us if i remember correctly, and the Ravens D is gettin old. WE ARE WINNING THE DIVISION THIS YEAR! You might think i'm crazy, but I'm a Magic fan, so i can't be that crazy can I?

Yeah, your a little crazy, but in a good way. Its nice to pull for your team. I'm always attracted to drafting Bengals players in my league. I've owned Chad numerous times, thats why they have frustrated me so much. With Housh, Carson, Rudi, and Chad, you have a ton of weapons. Your right, the injury bug got you bad on defense last year, but they still aren't good enough to contend imo. And, there was also a pretty big problem with discipline. A lot of guys have been in trouble there, not just Henry. The main problem that I see is Marvin Lewis. He's the one that should go, not Chad. His play calling is horrible and he seems to have lost the team.

So, sorry but I think you finish in third place in your division. The Browns are loaded now that Derek Anderson stepped up and they went and got Donte Stallworth. With Braylon, Winslow, and that offensive line, they should win the division easily. The Steelers just resigned Big Ben, have a great coach, and defense. Fast Willie Parker, Hines Ward, and Santonio Holmes coming into his own should be good enough for second place. Cinci in third, and your right, the Ravens defense is aging, and they have no quarterback. Thats the way I see it anyway, sorry.

I'm a Bengles fan too, and some of their decisions are head scratchers. Letting Chris Henry go before he was convicted of anything is kind of weird after they have stood behind him for so long. I hope the Cowboys give him a chance. The kid is a redzone beast.

I agree with Chad Johnson that this team isn't built to win no matter how much you look at the offense. The Bengals have the 3rd best QB-Receiever combo in football, yet they have no offensive line and no defense. Watching Cleveland make deals to get better while we stand pat, would make me speak out too. If ownership isn't goign to make the team better, then why should he pretend to be happy to be there? His coach paints him as a bad guy for running his mouth and celebrating, while there are more serious problems in the locker room. Why hasn't Lewis been fired yet? Why didn't they make a serious run at Briggs or Samuel? Why haven't they been able to draft an impact player recently? This team is in a holding pattern right now that looks like the mid 90s all over agin.

Im a bengals fan too, you arent alone ;)

Im not sure what i think of the chad thing, id rather not trade him but hes being such a dick about everything.

Glad the chris henry thing is behind us, it sucks though he had more talent than all but a couple of WRs in the league, what a loser.

Definitely the bungles.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability
