IIRC, we had expressed interest in him as HC, but he forewent an interview with the Magic to sign early on with MEM

Obviously Iavronni thought he would be getting the 06 Grizzlies with Rudy Gay, Milicic and Mike Conley added on. On paper that team looked great. But there management just seemed hell bent on pushing guys like Gasol and Eddie Jones out the door.

That what happens when mgmt want to save money. The expensive players become liabilities.
