Hey im a huge fan of this kid and if the Clippers dont resign him do u think we'll go after him? He has a lot of potential.however injuries will scare most teams off. But imagine how big we'd be with a 6'7 pg then hedo and shard at 6'10 Dwight at 6'11.

If he demands only the MLE and we say Battie can start at the 4 then he would be a great addition. However we would have two point guards getting paid starter money, which seems wastful. All in all probably not the most optimal move we could make this summer.

Even with the worry of that horrific injury, he'll still be offered more money than we can throw at him.

He was hitting a groove too before his leg collapsed on him.

Damn, that injury was a hard 1 to watch.

Ya one of the worst looking injuries i've seen. But i guess it was a pipe dream cause u always want your team to have players u like. Still hope he recovers well. I thought him and telfair were gonna be all stars by now....

honestly though, I dont see him as a great PG option, and if we're going to go consider someone like him, I say shoot for Childress to play the 2 like many have suggested...

The Magic will need a backup PG. So at the LLE, he's worth a look.

Do you mean the MLE? Even that isnt likely. The LLE would be laughable.

yea LLE wont happen even after his monstrous injury...

livingston is sick..he used to play with my cousin back in AAU.

a lot of the talk i heard from clippers fan, back before livingston got injured, was that his defense was actually pretty good.

whether they were referring to his defense against smaller PGs or against players his size i'm not quite sure, but i did get the distinct impression that he was definitely not a liability.

Livingston was on his way to being a very very good player. Question is can he get back to that point after that injury? Penny Hardaway anyone?

He's worth a gamble, but only for say a 1-2 year contract.

By the way, anyone thought about the lineup?

PG: Shaun Livingston 6'7
SG: Hedo Turkoglu 6'10
SF: Rashard Lewis 6'10
PF: Tony Battie 6'11
C: Dwight Howard 6'11

I always tried to catch Livingston when I could, as he was a player who intrigued me, but I wouldn't say that his defense was pretty good.

I'd say he's average, and that's a rather fair assessment, in my opinion. I really don't think he's that good of a defender, but as you allude to, his size and length can sometimes make up for it.

Ya when i first heard of Livingston going pro instead of duke and he was 6'7 i immediately thought of Penny. And now with the injuries its reminding me more of him. Except Shaun isnt the scorer and more the passing pg. the LLE wont het him

To say that his jumper was suspect would be kind. That said, he'll have had plenty of time to work on it while being injured (what else can he do with a bum knee?).

Even if we could, I wouldn't want to blow our MLE on Livingston under the current circumstances. Assuming he returns to pre-injury form after only a brief rusty period at the start of the season (best case scenario), he would still be a young project, which isn't really what this team needs, especially at point guard.

I'd rather use the MLE to get a vet that we know can contribute immediately, even if he has less of an upside than Livingston has.

I think the Clips won't let him leave for the MLE. If he is healthy he be the starting PG of the future but if he healthy the Clippers have no reason to let him go.

Any team that signs Livingston would do so as a project. THe Magic are a good fit given that he could resurrect his career by proving he's not Gumby.

Of course, he could just re-up in Clipper-ville and accept a career fueled with loses.
