Crazy offseason Idea...

Post#1 » by locomagicfan » Thu Apr 10, 2008 12:04 am

I know im getting a little bit ahead of myself, but I cant help wondering what next years team is gonna look like with all the pending FA's and the return of Battie.

Here's what I'd like to see happen.

1) Sign and Trade for Josh Smith via Hedo and possible pick. With the return of battie and Lewis around, I dont see him here for long. We need a PF
2) Draft Brandon Rush
3) Sign a PG to the MLE

Dwight/Battie/Gortat
Josh Smith/Cook/Foyle
Lewis/Evans
Brandon Rush/Redick
Nelson/Duhon/Dooling

i'd do it
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

i would love J Smith. He's Dwight's friend as well. However they aren't gonna give him up so easily IMO.

Josh Smith is the non shooter we do not need at PF. I would draft Collison or Chalmers, sign Childress for part or all of the MLE, attempt to sign Kurt Thomas for whats left of the MLE or the LLE, and take a run at Fran.

Adding Collison, Childress, Thomas, and Fran to our core would be nice.

This is exactly what I want!

But we deeply need another pg there.

Arthur will not fall to us. The more likely scenerio is Childress, Collison, bargin basement big man plus Fran. Also, a healthy battie. Hibbert is also a possibility.

^ I think its a possibility Arthur can fall. And of course we can make a move to move-up. Draftexpress has Arhur going to 24 too. But I like your idea too!.

Im gonna get mauled for this. I put childress in there cuz i know you guys all love him. Im personally not a fan of his that much. A thread on the hawks board was calling him a weak man defender.

Im gonna get shot, but I wanna see Antione Wright here. The kid has a shot, hussles and plays sold D... he hasnt gotten muhc of a chance cuz he was behind carter and jefferson in jersey,a nd is now on dallas.

I like the versatility that Childress brings.

Atlanta is at 52M next season without signing Smith and Childress, so they might let him go.

I know most dont wanna hear this but the thruth is we have to let Hedo go this playing Lewis at PF thing is horrible. We need to get a good PF and the 20th pick in the draft wont do IMO. SO TRADE HEDO!

No way you trade Hedo. This team is a starter away at the 2 from being elite. What I'd like to see is us draft Collison, bring Fran over, resign Evans and Dooling, and use the MLE to get Maggette, and if not him than Childress.

Howard/Battie/ Foyle/Gortat
Lewis/Fran/Cook
Turk/Evans
Maggette/JJ/Bogans
Nelson/Dooling/Collison

No to Maggette!

If Maggette comes here..Hedo goes back to old Hedo IMO. We need somone who can do dirty work and stay consistent. So basically a consistent version of Mo Evans.

No way Atlanta trades him for Hedo...

... and even if they did, it wouldn't be to a division rival.

No to JR Smith

Kelenna is an option I guess. But I honestly don't know much about him.

I dont see why people still want Collison after seeing him in the tournament...He was awful

Chalmers is a beast on d for a PG and Thabeet is a beast at the PF/C...Chris Douglas Roberts is awesome for the SF/SG spot

Also i wouldnt give Smith or Kelenna the MLE...They arent worth it IMO

Maggette and Childress...Yeah

Although i agree getting Maggette would in a way hinder Hedo's play and a trade may the best way to go.

Maggette and Josh Smith would be out of this world but it is HIGHLY unlikely...I would be ecstatic though
