Two of the most memorable plays from last season came on inbounds passes leading to buzzer beating shots. The first was a pass to a slashing Gr**t H*ll who caught the ball in mid-air and laid it in for the win over Portland.

The second, and arguably the best single play in Magic history, was the inbounds pass to Dwight which led to his dunk over Tim Duncan, giving the Magic the win over the Spurs.

The common element in these two plays was the passer: Hedo Turkoglu.

The idea has been toyed with of playing him as a point forward on a more regular basis, and at first I was against it. But the fact that he has established himself as a damn fine passer has forced me to rethink that opinion.

So the question stands: is Hedo the best passer on our team?

I don't believe you should count the dwight pass. I thought Jameer was an excellent passer watching all the lobs to Dwight, but even he said something to the effect of, "All I do is throw it up as high as I can and let Dwight catch it where no one else can".

Hedo is definitely a good passer for how big he is imo.

yes, he is the best passer we have currently. He's one of the best passing forwards in the league IMO.

He is our best passer, by far. Which is why its incredibly ridiculous that people want to trade him.

jameer deserves some mention. he isn't a bad passer in his own right. i know assists don't tell the whole story but jameer averages 9+ assist per 48 compared to hedos 6.3. jameer is excellent at hiting the 3 point shooter in the corner. however, hedo is only behind lebron james in terms of apg for small forwards. Both are good playmakers.

Not really sure why you are discouting the alley oop. 75% of a successful alley oop depends on the pass. Plus to do it under pressure, OVER Tim Duncan --you'd better believe I'm counting it.

Maybe at their best Jameer and Carlos can dish the ball better, but Hedo on a consistent basis has been dishing it well all season.

But what heDOes so well is to create for others, no other player in the league can do that as well as him besides Lebron. I love how he goes to the basket takes an opponent and when he sees he's about to double teamed he fakes the shot and gives Shard or other shooters space for their shot. It seems so easy but it's so effective. People say Shard makes Hedo better, I think it's the other way. Hedo's presence and passing abilities creates so much more for Shard, takes so much more pressure away from him. Shard's shooting in his turn makes life easier for Turk, no dispute there.

The difference between Turk and the PG's, is that none of our PG's are considered a threat, they don't get the double team let alone the triple team. It's usually 1on1, the only time the double team comes is under the paint, when the PG's attack the basket. And Arroyo or Dooling NEVER pass when they attack the basket, they force the shot.
Only Jameer does that, he attacks the basket and fakes his shot to dish it out to a open guy, which sometimes results in TO's but still he gives the most effort from our PG's to pass.

Except that Shard was scoring a good bit (20+) more and in more varied ways over the past 3 or seasons.

That said, they are mutually benefit each other. In turn they benefit Dwight, and the rest of the team.

I'm glad to see Hedo performing as we all had hoped when Puck signed him. His performance this year is certainly better than pretty much anyone expected.

Definetely Hedo. He sets up more people than just about anyone. Jameer? I'm not even sure that Arroyo a better passer. IMO Hedo season has a lot to do with the fact that no Grant Hill has allowed him to become the playmaker on this team.
