Brandon Rush

Post#1 » by nothinbutnet28 » Fri Apr 11, 2008 12:07 am

The latest mock draft had him falling a spot past us, so do you guys think it would be a good idea to pick him up? I know we need a PF/C to play alongside Dbo, but we kinda need a shooting guard at the same time.

He was killer in the ncaa tourney and is a good all around player.

So what do you all think?

He is one of a group of players who could fall to us and are good fits. We could use upgrades at PG, SG, and big man. Here is who could be available that would be nice fits here...

PG
Darren Collison
Mario Chalmers
DJ Augustin (not likely)

SG
Chase Budinger (not likely)
Brandon Rush
Nicolas Batum
CDR
Bill Walker
Kyle Weaver
Shan Foster

Bigs
Hasheem Thabeet
Roy Hibbert
DJ White
Jason Thompson
Robin Lopez
Darrell Arthur (not likely)

All these guys would be good fits here next year, and a handful will deffinately be there when we pick. This is shaping up to be great timing for us, because we have a bad pick in a very deep draft.

at the 2 spot i would take Batum or CDR over him...it's not that I dont like him, but I dont see him being a breakout guy and that ACL injury has to be on your brain when you pickup a guy with previous injuries...

What about Budinger? He would be an absolute steal if he fell to us. The way he can shoot, along with his athleticism and improved defense would be the perfect fit. I still have my doubts that he will be there when we pick, but IMO he is the best possible scenerio of all the guys I listed.

Brook Lopez is the biggest sure thing in this draft. He will walk into the league as a 13 and 8 guy, simular to the stats everyone is drooling all over Al horford for. Robin is more of a wild card and would not be among my prefered picks.

I actually like Rush, but I don't think that's the route I'd go.

I don't really see him being an upgrade over what we have, but rather just another face on Hec's sig.

With that said, it's to early for me to really say anything, we'll see how things start to pan out after the season is over. I really am a fan of Rush though.

i dont know he didnt look all that good to me he doesnt look like he can hit the 3 consistently and our SG has to be able to do that. i take the best available big.

Rush should evolve in to a Stevenson/Bogans type. That's certainly worth a high-20s pick.

With the draft as deep as it is this year that might make for some good trade bait to get a solid vet that fits better.

Rush will be better than Bogans and Evans...but I'd still look elsewhere myself...

Yeah Brandon Rush would be an upgrade at shooting guard. But, if one of the Lopez twins are available I'd go with them.

In this draft, there are a few players I would be ELATED with

Chalmers
Collison
Rush
Hibbert
Thabeet

Any of those players in any order.... But the biggest sleeper in this draft is Joey Dorsey, and I really feel that we need to trade a future second or something some cash for him in the second round..The guy is built well, can rebound, score, and has incredible athleticism...I was hanging out with a few scouts in December up in a New Jersey bar, and they were comparing his build and the way he monsters his dunks to a smaller version of Dwight...

Chalmers and Dorsey... I would be so happy

He prob could be.. I'm just saying right now.. if we drafted him I don't think he'd make a big impact until his 2nd or third year.. and even then I don't think he'd be a allstar guard.. but yeah I'm all for a PF or PG

I'd be fine with trading down, maybe out of the first round altogether, and taking Dorsey.

I just want a rookie that actually has the skill set to be developed and and serviceable. If we draft psycho-T I might loss my effin mind.
