NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony was arrested on Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence, hours after his worst game of the season. Police said the Denver Nuggets forward was arrested on Interstate 25. He was pulled over for weaving and failing to dim his lights.

Detective Sharon Hahn said Anthony failed a series of sobriety tests. He was charged with DUI, then taken to police headquarters before being released to a "sober responsible party," Hahn said. Anthony is due in court on May 14.

Mark Warkentien, the Nuggets' vice president of basketball operations, said the team was aware of the situation but declined comment. Anthony apologized through his attorney, Dan Recht.

Can this cause them the playoffs?

This is an example of why I can never get behind the Nuggets. They have all the talent in the world and find a way to screw it up. In the game against the Warriors, J.R. Smith is having a great game and for no reason picks up a technical. It's things like like that, and now this DUI that prevents me from being a Nuggets fan. This doesn't help the Nuggets image also as an immature, ghetto team filled with players with tattoos and cornrows (though I don't personally think that).

Now it's down to whether Denver want the playoffs or to set an example: Either suspend Anthony and miss out on the post-season or let him play and be seen as a soft organisation that lets anything go.

Dont think thats the case as much as i want the nuggets to lose, they play memphis their last game they could suspend him and still dominate. But they wont suspend him.
