Maybe Stan has a plan...or is getting one?

Post#1 » by magickingdom » Wed Apr 16, 2008 11:21 am

This thread maybe could have been about JJ getting play time last night.
I mean after all these games, why last night? And why for the whole forth quarter? We could all say that Stan was just resting all His starters. But He has said that He is not going to change their play time, just practise time. So why the line up change for the forth? ( And I must say, they did play pretty well for this group)?
Just a thought, but maybe Stan has a plan. Maybe He is planning to mix up the line up so the Raptors cannot match up. They will watch the films and get a game plan, just like us. But then, BAM, Stan will throw JJ in and His cutting, running off screens, style of play will totaly mess up the Raptors game plan. Since He has not played much, they will not expect it or plan for it. BAM...what a plan.
Or maybe he was just resting His starters in a meaningless game, waiting for the playoffs to start.
I guess only time will tell.........................................................

uh..cause we were blowing them out and he was resting the starters. There is no plan for JJ this season, lol.

You'd expect the starters to get rest on the first night of a back to back if you're blowing out the team anyway, not to mention the playoffs coming up this weekend.

Yes.

The plan is to sit a player for 80 games, wait until he is furious with you and has lost confidence, and then completely go away from the players that won you 51 games to depend on a guy who wants to leave cause you benched him all year.

Lets not miss the most important line in my post: "Or maybe he was just resting His starters in a meaningless game, waiting for the playoffs to start. " But JJ does play well when given the chance.

No he didn't. He said he wasn't going to sit the starters, and that he had decreased their playing time the past several games already. Maybe he's finally developed enough confidence in his team to let our scrubs play their scrubs in a blowout, LOL.

actually I've seen games that were blowouts where JJ still pretty much hugged the bench until the last few minutes. The lead wasn't all that insurmountable when the fourth quarter began. To me the plan is pretty much what was discussed in the 50 win being important thread. Never know who you might need them so scraping of a little of the rust from your starters is always good when the games aren't that important.

Knowing playoff basketball you never know in which game you might have to put in an additional three point shooter. NBA players still have a tremendous level of respect for JJ's shot . So as first or second option or decoy he could help you win a tight game.

BAM here comes JJ...BAM

I like it. I imagine JJ checking in to the game and the Raptors coaching staffing getting knocked down with surprise.

.....that leads to more playing time for JJ!!!!!!

In all seriousness, the guy can play, and I still contend that he was a back injury away in the preseason from starting or being in the rotation for us.

Otis is right, JJ just needs to be patient, Otis knows a little bit more then we'd like to give him credit for in some areas.

I wouldn't put it past him. Just another thing their staff has to prep for and waste time on.

JJ will hit the buzzer beating game winning three in game 7 after sitting cold the entire series. Then he will be benched in round 2 and forgotton about

Hell, I still don't know if Redick is good OR not good.????????

How would anybody know at this point.

I doubt Redick was in the plan though.......but again, who knows?????
