Just a thought about series threads (to Mods) [READ PAGE 3!]

There was a thread about the "Raptors going small". It was locked and we were told to put these things in the series thread. I would like to make a comment about this. Sometimes a new idea or issue comes up, ie, Raptors go small. To put it in the series thread, it would just get lost. I mean some of these threads go 50+ pages. And as a reader I would like to read about different things with out having to go through 50 pages. So what is wrong with any new topic? Why must you (any Mod.) or should I say, why do you feel that any given thread should be locked? We have no space linit on this site. So Mods., please do not be so quick to lock a thread just because you feel it should be some where else. I do not have time to read 50 pages just to find out the Raptors are going small.
This is just a request, but I am sure others feel the same way.
So please, unless we are talking about a thread thats in violation some way. Let them alone. If they are not relevent, they will disappear off the bottom of the page. Thanks for listening.

+1 I hate going through those lnog threads, but too many threads aren't good either.

All right, how many people feel that way? How would you feel if there was a separate Newspaper links thread?

There is only space for so many threads on a page. That does not change.
Threads that people are reading and active in will stay on the first page. Others will work their way to the bottom and move off that page. So it rally does not matter how may threads there are. The good one last, the others disappear. So there can never be to many threads. But there can be threads that are just plain to long. 60+ pages is just crazy. Just my opinion.

I think a newspaper thread would do the job...

ORL, I really am not complaining. I understand what you are trying to do. I would just like to be able to read new stuff (in my limited time I have) with out reading through so many pages. Most "new" information or ideas are really found in the first page or two of a thread. After that most of the time it is just conversation and opinions. Sometimes 50+ pages of that gets pretty boring.

I think that topic would be best suited in the Game 2 Thread, so why not just make a game 2, 3, etc. thread as soon as the preceeding game is over, so we can post new news and rumors, adjustments pertaining to that game in the game thread? Beats having to keep up with multiple threads.

No, I got you. I've already had this conversation with one person via PM. Let's talk about it, see what ideas we can come up with that would best suit the majority on here.

I agree that sometimes 50+ pages can be boring. However, I prefer the way the mods are doing it right now. If you make a post that you feel needs to be on the front. Post it...let the mods lock it and then repost it in the proper thread for discussion. Sounds repetative but its the nature of the beast and I'm ok with it.

i prefer a game by game thread. this separates it in a way where u can not only get the game info.. but all the newspaper info leading up 2 the game I.E. Rapz going small.

definately should make another thread for these things that come up otherwise it does get lost unless you check every one of the 75 pages... good job bringing this up

I like the idea of a new thread for breaking stuff and then lets say within 24 hours it gets merged into the appropriate existing thread

I posted the Raps going small thread and would have put it in a game 2 thread but there wasn't one. The series thread is too long and it would just have gotten lost. I know I come to the board and just read the title of the the threads to see if there is any new news. I certainly thought the raps going small was something I would want to see on the front page as new news......

Lets not even separate RealGM into teams. Lets just have 1 website called "Life" with 1 thread, and everything anyone thinks of goes in that thread. It'll be like 50 million pages long. It will be great.
