dwight should win this one one year. he's too good not to.
he totally scared the raptors in the first game and made them alter all their shots and avoid the net like a plague. amazing dude you guys have.
but he has to be on every game like kg is on every game.

1. Camby is not DPOY, he just jumps for a lot of balls. Not saying he isn't defensively inclined, but Garnett deserves it this year.
2. Dwight, as of now, will never be DPOY unless he improves massively. Don't overrate his defense, he is good from the weakside, it about begins and ends there. His man defense is nothing more than average.
Hopefully I don't get flamed for my #2 comment, as I undrestand it, most of you guys believe Dwight can and will get every award. I don't think he'll necessarily be a great lockdown defender like Garnett ever, though it's not irrational to believe he will be given his age, however, that idea is purely based on "potential" not what we see nowadays. Something like, being scoring champion, is easily in the realm of possibility given how much he scores now being relatively "raw."

"If I help get South Florida into the tournament, then 20 years from now when South Florida is ranked No. 1 in the country, people will look at the history and say, 'Dominique Jones started that program.'"

the thing stopping him, imo, though i don't watch every magic game is his attitude.
dude seems really nice and things like he and bosh eating together after game 1 of the playoffs is a bit ridiculous. no offense. its even worse for Bosh who lost the game in an embarrassing fashion really, so the criticism should fall on Bosh a lot more.
you need that killer mentality and sometimes he just coasts - kinda like lebron does. but he's still so young.

I agree to an extent. On shooting power forwards he plays terrible defense, mostly because he just doesn't know how to defend them, he doesn't know whether to give up the lane, give up the shot, and often gets caught in between.
I think his post defense is pretty good, he alters a lot of shots and does a good job keeping his hands up.
His help defense is superb though. And when he WANTS to really defend well, he's one of the best. His defense at the end of close games is some of the best in the league.
We'll see how his defense changes over the years.
