PTI: Chris Paul or Dwight Howard?
on PTI just now Wilbon and Kornheiser debated who they would choose to start a franchise for the next decade.
Wilbon basically said, 99% of the time he goes the old school approach which is BIG MAN, BIG MAN, BIG MAN. But looking at the PGs in the league today a great PG can get you to the finals. He said a great PG could change his mind.
Kornheiser than proceeded to cornhole Wilbon by saying, BIG MAN, BIG MAN, BIG MAN. Kornheiser brought up several bigs in history and how they bring you championships, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, Kareem, Hakeem, Duncan, Mikan, etc.
Kornheiser brought up Dwight's first two game numbers and Wilbon said "it's Moses!" (referring to Moses Malone, who Dwight is often compared to)
Mike seemed content to go with Dwight, but seemed to want to show Paul some love cause of what he's doing as well.

Glad some one saw it.
I expected both of them to go with Paul. Glad to see people are learning. But you really can't go wrong either way.

big man always..
look how great penny, nash, kidd are but they haven't won anything..
then look at the winning teams with rings...shaq.....shaq....duncan....drobb....ben/sheed.....or they have to have an amazing guy like jrodan... a pg can only do so much...but you need a big man still..
dwight>paul in terms of impact...

Well in general the pg/big...you go with the big. But looking at both of them and while I feel CPaul is playing on transcendant level . Howard is going to be a unbelievable monster in a year or two. I know your thinking he is a monster now..just wait, this is the tip of the iceburg and he is putting up 20/20 in the playoffs, wait till he is putting up consistently 30/20 and 5 blocks and keeping the blocks in play. He has that potential and looks to be on his way there.

Looking at Chris Paul....
He looks different from every point gaurd before, he could actually be a guy you can build around without a big man. The first time you can actually say you can build around a PG.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of them as your franchise.

man, i actually dreamed the other day of trading the entire team to get CP3 to play with Dwight. who knows, the hornets could be a lottery team the next couple of years and Chris Paul would get too upset and we could get him somehow. D12+CP3 = ETERNAL DOMINATION!! i.e. 80pts off of alley oop every game.

I actually have the video of him getting drafted and the immediate reaction from ESPN analysts. Tolbert was fine with it, said we could afford to wait. SAS said that we should've pair Francis and Co. with defensive anchor that is to be Okafor, and that we Dwight we would only be hoping. Jay Bilas said Okafor "may make Orlando regret this."

First the startling revelation that Jackattaq has disowned Darko, now Dickie V and Steven A. Smith admit they were wrong?!?!?!

Dick V has always been a stand up guy. I'm not suprised he'd admit he's wrong. Seven A. Smith is a tool. Always has been.
I'd go with a big too btw. Howard over Paul. I MIGHT take Paul over Lebron though. I actually would take Paul over Lebron *shrugs*.

I too would go with a big to start a franchise but Paul is unique. I've read and listened many people saying he was the next Magic and others saying he is the new Isiah. I don't see him like that. I have never seen a point guard run a team like he does, he's magnificent and I say he's unique.
And he's still a good couple of years away from his peak. Scaring!

Bigs win championships and guards sell tickets. So for that I have to say Dwight. But that is not a slight to Chris Paul. Paul is the best pg in the league, hands down. We haven seen the best of either him or Dwight yet. The playoffs have been both of their coming out parties. They are both putting up crazy numbers. I have a feeling Dwight is going to get 30pt 30reb game in this series. Both the eastern and western conference have alot to fear in the future.

I know Dwight was the first since Nate Thurmond ( Nearly 40 years ago )to get a back to back 20, 20 game in a playoff series, But has anyone ever had a triple 20, 20 game back to back to back in a playoff series?

I think KG had a back to back, but not a back to back to back
