in the draft :) ... Seriously, i think we need some trade for a top 5 pick... Or just go for it all in Derrick Rose who is already faster, taller, and more defensive than any of our PG (if you dont count KeDo). I'm thinking this years first, next years first, JJ Redick, and Carlos Arroyo. We could even put in #12 as an extra... Just kidding... what do you guys think

Can't mess up chemistry to bad if Rose stays a back up and Nelson starts you know

Can't trade 1st rounders in consecutive years, Carlos Arroyo is an unrestricted FA, and no other GM in their right mind would make that deal.

I always thought you couldn't trade away consecutive 1st round picks, ie: leaving the Magic with no 1st's at all for two years running?

I'm not entirely up on draft pick trading rules though.

There is a post over on EBSports that says the Magic are very interested in OJ Mayo, and will do as much as possible to move up to get him if he slips out of the top 5 because they think he is the next Monta Ellis or Dwyane Wade.

Guy claims to be an "insider".

We all know how insiders are.

But, it raises some good conversation.

...this thread is a bit pointless. there's no way miami or seattle to give up their 1st round picks (assuming they got top 3)
no team will ever trade away a top 3 pick with the kind of talent pool this year.

There is not a rookie in the draft that would contribute in year 1 for the Magic.

But this is a VERY deep draft. At mid-20, some quite serviceable, long-term projects will be available.

Sure, there is. Not one available to us, but still...

1. we traded last year 1st rounder so we HAVE to keep this years, unless we draft for someone and then trade his rights

2. we would have to trade next years and 2011 for that same reason

3. miami, or anyone else for that matter, will take that trade, we'd HAVE to include hedo in any trade for a top 5 pick

We've got a core group already, no need to go for broke for another potential star in the draft. Play it smart like the Spurs of the world and draft for value, then use the MLE to land that missing piece.

Maybe they could trick someone into trading one for Bogans?

Given our draft history, do you think we would actually draft someone who could consistency be in our rotation?

well, this is one of those drafts that as long as you go with a college guy who started for a good team, you will probably get a quality guy...if you go with a project or a euro, you might lose...

I saw him play against UCF.

He has quick quick quick hops for a guy 7'3.

Reminds me a lot of Mutumbo at Georgetown.

Limited offensively, but is very athletic.

The bad news though is I think he goes top ten........

his offense is better than advertised I believe...more workable at least...
