Behind the box score, where the Magic impressed
By Kelly Dwyer
Orlando 106, Toronto 94
Orlando really turned the corner Saturday, it may have been an anonymous Game 4 on basic cable (and not worth Bill Simmons' time, apparently), but this win was a huge step forward for the entire franchise.
A few things happened that rarely take place:
*Rashard Lewis didn't shoot the ball well early on, he didn't let it bother him, and decided to take over the game in ways beyond chucking perimeter bombs. By the time his shooting came back in the fourth quarter, he was able to help put the Raptors away, and finish with this sterling line: 27 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals, a block and just one turnover in almost 41 minutes.
*Jameer Nelson didn't let a slow start, and the great play of his Toronto counterparts, get to him. Though he wasn't contributing as much as Lewis in other areas, he did take over in the fourth quarter and finish with 19 points on just 10 shots.
*Dwight Howard had eight blocks. That rarely takes place.
Toronto tried, it tried hard, and gave itself a chance to win in the way you'd usually expect: Sam Mitchell's team turned the ball over nine times, half as many cough-ups as the Magic threw out there. Still, the Raps shot 43.5 percent and had at least a dozen makeup chippies or open perimeter jumpers that could have gone in. It's a bit of a bummer but it remains the truth: Toronto had its chances, in spite of Orlando's ever-improving play.
In the end, it was Orlando's afternoon. Pardon the that sort of clich

I always find it funny how everyone says we're not going to win a championship, but they say Dwight's going to win quite a few. So they're assuming he's going to leave Orlando at some point despite being locked up for the next 5-6 years, so I guess they think we'll disappoint him enough that after those 6 years he'll walk via FA or demand a trade at some point.

Many in the media would love for Howard to jump ship to a larger market just like they are trying to entice Lebron to do the same.

i agree that the finals is a stretch... but its not a "no chance in hell" stretch. I mean if the pistons lose to the sixers i think we definitely win that series... and even if they win in a seven game series, it still like our chances. then we have to worry about boston or the cavs... and i think (i may be the only one) that we can beat boston or the cavs

He is right, we are a couple spots away from being a title contender.
1. Defensive, pass first PG (Can be a starter or Jameer's backup)
Possible answer: T.J. Ford (Not exactly defensive, but an upgrade in passing and ball control. They will keep Calderon, so he will likely be available) or Chris Duhon.
2. A PF/C that can hit a mid-range shot & rebound w/ just enough defense. We need another big man that can actually play at the same time as Dwight to take pressure off the boards and defensive end. (Hopefully Tony can come back 100% next season. If Battie is 100% & Gortat continues to improve we won't need much there.)
Possible answer: Fran Vazquez, Kurt Thomas
3. A true "6th Man". We need that guy who comes off of the bench and can score with the best of them. So far through the playoffs that guy has been Keith Bogans. That just does not cut it for a championship team.
Possible answer: Ricky Davis, Corey Maggette

I'm sorry but Ricky Davis is a big hell no. he is nothing but a team cancer. He does nothing but bring teams down.
