Toronto fire sale coming up?

Anyone feels like BryanColangelo's gonna kick half the Raps roster out the door this summer? Smitch (the coach) is victim #1 but I'm feeling like they're gonna look a lot different next season thanks to "us".

What TOR players would you like on this team at a discount price?

I dont think there will be any fire sale. They played hard, I think if anything maybe one two guys stick out as putting them on the border line. Ford for instance hogs way too much at important times. Which makes no sence when you have a guy like jose on the bench. So maybe they will look to take care of that issue. But other than that and maybe getting a big man to start or play significant minutes of the bench is what the Raps need.

I've actually been thinking if we should make a play for bosh to play the 4 next to d12... am i nuts to think that?

It seemed to me there is a clear lack of personnel on that team. They need a 5 who can bang and they simply do not have it.

What could we give them?

I'd go after Kapono. Imagine him on this team.

The only person on the Raptors team who has a chance of leaving the team is the head coach. His name has been mentioned several times considering the GM did not hire him.
And now for the second time going out in the first series has not helped his job security.
There has been no mention of any players being traded to fix there problems. Most believe that the big fix is there head coach.

Now the team you should be talking about is Dallas. If as predicted they lose to the Hornets then it's thought that Cuban is going to do a lot of changes. Right now he is not a happy owner.

I'd have to imagine that Cuban would be very unhappy with the Mavs as they are right now, I don't know who he would ship off, I bet he is sorely unhappy with Josh Howard, he has played badly this series. Dirk is pretty much the solid leg on this team, also Jason Kidd has proved to be useless against the Hornets, will they trade him this off season and admit their mistake?

The Raptors are fine, I just think it's bad coaching and injuries that derailed them this year. If Mitchell didn't insist on throwing Andrea Barg onto the court in this series it may have been closer. I think that they would have been better served with Rasho on the court (13 and 7 in March and 16 and 7 in April). Just because you give the #1 pick playoff minutes doesn't make him any less of a bust. All I think this team needs is an athletic small forward to slash and pick up fouls when the shots aren't falling. If they can turn TJ Ford into someone like Richard Jeffereson or Rudy Gay, then they could be dangerous.

The Mavs are just hurt by the fact that they have a team that only has 6 players worht anything (Damp, Dirk, Josh, Jet, Kidd, Bass). Their bench is total trash, and their coach likes to outsmart himself. Jones, George, and Stackhouse are all beyond their useful years. Once the Mavs have to go to their bench it's pretty much over. They are too old to keep going in the direction they are going and now they are on the hook to pay a washed up Jason Kidd 20 million next year (and Rashard is overpaid). I just wish that there was some way to get a young defensive minded center, and point guard for that team. Oh wait...

I wouldn't want Terry. Ballhog, sloppy, and a douchebag to boot.

I'd love to have Brandon Bass, Jason Kidd (heh), Josh Howard, and even Magliore at reduced price.

Smitch isn't the reason the Raps lost.

That team is just too soft to compete well in the playoffs.

One of their first moves should be to trade TJ Ford, make Calderon the main PG, and get a big man to help out Bosh up front.

IMO they should start first with not flopping and playing the game with respect. If you cant win without trying to fool the refs then you shouldnt be there. I understand their desperation but geez.

Actually among all their players I honestly feared only 2 players, Kapono and Calderon. It seemed like every time they touched the ball we were at their mercy. Kapono is a player that needs no space to shoot lights out. Calderon has an incredible court vision and his decision making was real real good.

I would Love to go after Josh Howard.

Well, I would love to get Bagnani. I think he has IT and would fit in great. Than of course there is Parker, who would make a great 2 for us. Heck, their whole team is built around players that would fit in great with Van Gundy's style, so I'd take most of them. I doubt they blow things up though.

Mitchell is probably gone if D'Antoni becomes available (and that would also suck, BTW, just Larry Brown).

But they gotta resolve the PG situation. Either trade Ford away (preferable) or sing-and-trade Calderon away. Something's gotta there. And also try and get more physical up front, they need some beef.

Bosh and Dwight are near-perfect fits.Bosh can shoot and slash and Dwight can dominate the paint. There are lots of great big men who would get in Dwight's way, but CB4 isn't one of them.

If I could choose a PF for this team, I'd go:
Garnett, Amare, Bosh, Brand, Gasol

Bosh would be amazing on this team.

I mean, we have Battie coming back next season, and that's a plus. What if it weren't Battie that was coming, but instead Bosh? :o

^ We could dream, but it's not feasable...

Plus the whole Andrea thing was colangelo's pick... He's not giving up and looking stupid that quickly IMO.
