Unhappy with his reduced role in the playoffs, Orlando Magic veteran reserve center Adonal Foyle said he won't decide until the offseason whether he'll exercise an option and become a free agent.

Foyle played a little over seven minutes in two games of the five-game series against the Toronto Raptors as the club used rookie Marcin Gortat to back up Dwight Howard in all four games. Foyle played in all 82 games for the Magic this season, averaging 1.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 9.4 minutes per game.

"You have to take it personally," Foyle said. "You have to be mad about it or you should stop playing the game. I understand the situation, but if you are a competitor, you're mad."

He seems like a really nice guy.

But man, he's just terrible at basketball. If he goes, the Warlock steps in as back-up center, and we see how the Fran situation unfolds.

Magic General Manager Otis Smith said he isn't concerned about his contract situation with the club. Chief Operating Office Alex Martins told the Sentinel recently that the Magic will address Smith's situation this offseason.

lol the day after otis gets a new contract, he will say he is unaware of such a deal, then he will claim he hasnt spoken to or had any contact with alex martins...then later he will admit he resigned with the magic


it doesnt sound like foyle will be back next season, unless he gets some minutes against detriot, kinda sucks to end the season on a sour note like that after having a great first season here

I could care less about Foyle. If he decided to leave then good, maybe we can get a guy to replace him that can actually move and catch the ball. He is a super nice guy but incredibly he is one the bigger ball hogs on the team. I wont miss him.

So does that mean that Cook will be ready for game one on Saturday? They said that he practiced Thursday. Then the article says that he still needs more flexibility in his wrist. That implies that he is not ready to play yet. The bench can really use him against the Pistons.

Hmm, I think this summer will be a big factor in whether or not I am fully on the Otis bandwagon. As of right now he is doing good, but depending on how he uses the MLE, plus what he does with Redick, I may change my mind. Wouldn't he hate that!

The whole thing with the Toronto series was just a match-up issue.

I'd expect to see Foyle some in the next series.

No offense to you or literacy. But someone is deep in the twilight of his career who already got his paycheck doesn't seem to make sense. Unless of course he feels his services can be guaranteed somewhere else. But wouldn't that be against the end goal of winning a ring?

Well, that's what I mean, he's playing for the minimum, so if he can get the minimum elsewhere and a guaranteed backup role, he may very well take it.

Let's not forget, he's an off-the-wall kinda guy, out of the ordinary. A lot of times, these guys will not go by what's logical. And you have players that if they can't play any longer, they don't want to sit on the bench and will dedicate their time to something else. He's got some Democracy organization that he started, right?

And also, he left a GS team that was seemingly on the rise despite not only another year of the minimum of the left, but a long-term big money deal.

Adonal simply wants to play, thats why he came here. I realize that sounds probably strange, but I truly believe thats all he wants. I am not defending his skill, he definately did not contribute to the team as well in the second half as he did in the first half of the season. However, we will need him in the Detroit series and we will need Gortat too.
