Magic Jersey on Statue of Liberty

During the Magic's epic run in 1995, someone put a Magic jersey on the mini Statue of Liberty that's on the median on Orange Ave by Lake Ivanhoe. A couple of friends and I want to recreate the Magic and are planning to give Lady Liberty a new wardrobe. Question is: do you think we should try to contact someone from the city to make sure they don't just take it down right away? If so, does anyone have a good contact person?
We were originally planning on just going guerrilla-style in the middle of the night and throwing the jersey on but are willing to make a few calls if that's the only way to keep the jersey on the statue.
I appreciate any advice/help.

Impossible. Lady Liberty stands for everything that is noble, just, and pure in this world. Therefore, she could not be a Knicks fan.

We need something that everyone can get behind, a symbol... Something that appeals to the best in each and every one of us... Something good... And pure... And decent...
Ghostbusters 2.
Sorry, OrlMagic4Ever's post sounded a lot like it.

I would say put a jersey on another statue downtown but.. well... it's all the modern crap. And a big asparagus. Maybe we could convince them to put jerseys or hats or something on the swan boats that ride around Lake Eola.

Let's show this prehistoric bitch how we do things downtown.
Wait, that was Ghostbusters 1. Sorry.
As for OrlMagic4Ever, your post read like something Dwight Schrute from The Office would say. Nice.
