So what is the latest? Is Fran coming over to play for the Magic this year or not? Any body heard the latest news? Please not all the Negative Fran crap. I just would like to know what the most current news is.

He has a buyout clause that would cost millions and the Magic can't pay that by league rules they can only pay out 500 thousand. But if you want Fran so much why don't you take a trip to Spain, because at the rate he is playing you have a better chance to see him play there then here.

That seems to be an annual question, doesn't it?
The deal he signed has a huge buyout clause in it, I think the chances of him coming over are pretty slim. Would be a great addition, obviously, but I'm afraid it's just a wasted lottery pick.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

So let me get this straight. Not only did he declare for the draft and then jilt us, he signed a new contract with a team in Europe that has a ridiculous buy out clause?!
He and ol' Billy have a lot in common.

Lets get this annual question straight. I don't care if he comes over one way or the other. But it has been said that the Magic wanted to know before the draft, so it could determind how they would draft. To pick a big man or not. So please move on past the Fran question, it has to do with the Magic and their options, not Fran. So stop with the sarcasim.

Annual?
More like monthly.
Anyhow, I hope we find out something here pretty soon. Personally, I don't know enough about his play, but if he can help, I hope we find a way to get him over here.

I was able to get one of the games and he is terrible. What a wasted draft. He had one good year then he got into the more elite league in Spain and he just can't play against the big boys there.
Plus with the dollar dropping like a rock against the Euro it is going to cost a lot more then last year, something to the tune of 25-30 million dollars to buyout his contract.
So considering everything I would say no on Fran one he can't play in this league and two anyone have millions to buyout this contract and why would they.

thought I heard he was stinking it up so bad that they would consider lowering the buyout to get him off the team but that was probally just fan speculation
I'm all for seeing more of Marcin

Fran actually played well in the playoffs this year. He is worth bringing over, if only as another body.

So is he worth 25 million I don't think so. And what do you consider playing well is that comparing to how he played in the regular season if so then by anyone else's standards he still can't play.

So you keep him if that will make you happy certainly makes me happy that someone wants him that badly man/woman.

cougar, you keep throwing 25-30 million number for the buyout. Where did you get that number? I haven't really read a source lately about the buyout. I believe you, so don't take it the wrong way. I'd just like to see a sourceThe largest I had ever heard was 8-10 mil from 2 years ago. I heard his contract was in the 20 millions, but the buyout obviously wouldn't be that much, because he's already played half of the contract. We would only have to pay 500,000, so if he wants to come over that badly to pay the 25-30 million I'm all for him coming. This is the same team that lowered Navarro's buyout, so if it can get close to 5 mil or under, I think we have a legit shot to get Fran over. It looks like he plays pretty good with consistent playing time and we could always use another big body in the mix. I'm all for him coming over(but I'm not getting my hopes up that he'll make an impact), just be another big body.
