A reality check for Magic fans who want to break up the team
You guys are being tools. Sorry to say it, but I never really thought I had too. Three years ago I made a post that the Magic would win 50 games. I got blasted because I was being too optimistic, Orlando couldn't do it. And one thing I noticed that 50 wins would be conisdered to be a huge thing. Then consider that Orlando lose six playoff series since 1996. This year not only do they win 52 games but they won a playoff series. What will satisfy you guys? Be happy. The team was GOOD for the first time in 10 years and who knows mabye they will climb out of this 0-2 hole. But the negativty on this board is ridiculous. Really a multi page thread about how the team should trade Hedo? Hedo has been amazing this year. It's his second playoff series in a major role give the guy a break. Most teams don't win the title the first year they win 50 games. It usually takes a couple years after that. The team will get better. Don't be greedy...
**quick note to any mod who reads this, plz move it too the Orlando forum. I accidently put it here.

well one thing for sure, you need to dump that tall lankly overpaid guy. the guy who said he deserves kobe type money, because his game is on that kobe level.
lewis is morphing into a chris webber. shy away from the ball in the crunch. makes turnovers in critical situations. and crunch time shot selection is totally apart and away from his repitoire of moves that he can actually perform.

Magic are two players away from legit contention imo
a Raja Bell type sg who could hit 3's and play good defense
and a pf/c to pair next to Howard who could hit the midrange j and complement Howard. Lets say Kurt Thomas
Nelson
Defensive and 3 pt sg
Lewis
Mid range and d pf
Howard
with Turk as the best 6th man in the league
Magic are pretty close. They have the 3 stars. Now they just need the pieces around them.

Why do the Magic have to trade Turk to get bigger? Why can't they just draft someone and play him off the bench? Or use the MLE? Or what about when Battie comes back? There are options other then trading away the teams best players. This is a team that shouldn't even think about rebuilding. Took the Magic 10 years to get back to 50 wins. Shouldn't abandon the team now.

with the offseason coming up, i expect some major moves as far as the 2 and 4 go, possibly the 1 as well...we need to get some depth on our frontline and get a starter for the 2...my dream offseason is:
draft:
hibbert
trades:
-redick, foyle, (ST) augustine, 09 first rounder and future second rounder for udonis haslem
-(ST) arroyo, bogans, cash for (ST) corey maggette
free agency:
-Josh Childress (MLE)
-Jason Williams (LLE)
bring em back:
-mo evans
-keyon dooling
-marcin gortat
let em go:
-pat garrity
roster on opening night:
pg-nelson/williams/dooling
sg-maggette/childress
sf-turkoglu/evans/cook
pf-lewis/haslem/battie
c-howard/hibbert/gortat
this leaves space for a training camp player or a summer leaguer we like...possibly a shooting guard...not really important...it's ok to dream
in this case j-chill is like an insurance policy to maggz because of his injuries and we could slide keyon or mo to the 2 if that was to occur...it's a very versatile line up...we can go big (turk/maggette/lewis/haslem/dwight) or we can go small (nelson/childress/maggette/lewis/haslem)...and with williams we could run and slow it down somewhat

and so many think that they are the real GM for the Magic. I love what RawLewD12 keeps on posting about a complete rebuild of the Magic because this team can't do anything right. So winning 50 games wasn't all that good. I mean what else does he/she want.
The Magic are getting better they won't be one of the elites like the Spurs for another two years I say, but they are getting there. And when they get there they will be able to stay there because this will be a team set to stay up with the elite for a long time.
Buy if we go by what RawLewD12 wants then this team will be bottom dweller for a long time since he/she will want to rebuild every year it doesn't meet his/her predictions.
What a crock.

I think sometimes people tend to forget that Dwight is 22 as well. He's nowhere near his peak.

Word. Some of us are and have been since that fiasco. The rest? Denial. Granted its much more satisfying. Still miracles can happen. Look what The lakers were able to get Gasol for and then Miami was able to unload Shaq so maybe we can move rashard's contract to some deranged GM.

i.e., the morons who thought we'd win 37 games and miss the playoffs. Good call guys.

That wouldn't be the us over here because I never made such a prediction. Nice try though. Don't let the facts get in your way (somewhat akin in characteristics to the moronic you referenced). Just make them up as you go along.
