07 Pistons or 08 Pistons - Which team is better?

Post#1 » by bstein14 » Tue May 6, 2008 9:45 pm

Before this series started, most Orlando fans agreed that Orlando was a much better team than last year and that Detroit is a year older and on the decline.

No one is going to argue that Orlando is a better team than last year, but is Detroit really a worse team than last year?

06-07 Rotation:
C:Sheed/Dice or Dale Davis
PF:Webber/Dice
SF:Prince/Delfino
SG:RIP/Delfino
PG:Billups/Flip Murray

07-08 Rotation:
C:Sheed/Dice or Ratliff
PF:Maxiell/Dice
SF:Prince/Herman or Hayes
SG:RIP/Aaron Afflalo
PG:Billups/Stuckey

--------------
Certainly Billups, Rip, Dice, and Sheed are a year older. Are the other changes enough to make them a better team than last year, or are they a worse team this year?

I think they are better

Theo is an upgrade over Davis
Stuckey is better than Flip
But mostly Maxiell over Webber is huge...Just because of Maxiell's athleticism and defense...That is helping you guys alot

The 08 team is deeper, as we are finding out.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

They both suck.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Which team sucks more?

Or which team would win a 7 game series.

What would you call a team that loses 9 straight playoff games to a "garbage" team?

I'd take the 03-04 Magic.

Highly doubt we would be "crushing" the '07 Pistons.

'08 Pistons seem to be deeper than last year's team. Either way, both teams are among the best of the current NBA. Can't argue against a team that continually makes it to the ECF, and is 2 wins away from doing it again this year.
