All Carmelo does is score. If he's not scoring he is lazy. We don't need scoring.

Wow, I didn't expect you guys to unanimously say no.

So, he smokes pot. He's still one of the best players in the league. The Magic still aren't where they should be and I don't know who else you guys think we should trade for, but there's no one.

even if we all agreed to get him, theres no way the magic would take on another max (or near max) contract

This team hasn't gotten consistent production from Rashard or Hedo in the playoffs so Melo should be considered. You have to give up 1 of the two to get him and I doubt there taking the actually more expensive Rashard. There no way Hedo is enough to pull in a talent like Anthony. I don't know if there is a deal that make sense for both teams on this one. Miami, Chicago, Toronto are probably better trading partners.

Herein lies the problems of only looking at numbers (well at least until they disprove your point) ...

DUI - days prior to the playoffs, speeding 3 weeks after DUI, pot, partying, don't snitch, calling out teammates but not accepting any responsibility, etc ..

Denver can keep Carmello, as talented as he is, one word describes that guy....trainwreck. I'll stick with Shard and Hedo for the time being. My guess is Carmello ends up with the Knicks somehow.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

If he wasn't doing those things I would say almost no team has a shot at getting him. This is a guy that after last summer at the tournament of Americas was being put right in the class of Kobe and Lebron. He was a 30 points per game scorer prior to the Iverson trade. If he didn't have the negatives he would be extremely difficult to get for any team.

With his problems in the past I do think that something like Marion and a player or pick could equal Anthony. I could see Luol Deng and a lottery pick equal to Anthony.

Anthony has done a lot but he hasn't done anything that would warrant the entire league running away from him. There would be plenty of bids for someone that perhaps could be averaging 30 points per game for you.

By past ... do you mean a week ago (speeding)? a month ago (DUI)? Again .. there's much more than numbers to the game. Why are good locker room guys sought after?

I don't disagree there'll be interest, but I feel rather confident in saying that there'll be none from the Magic.

If there was ... it would be a sad day for Magic fans.

All I'm saying is a guy that in the past would not have been traded for anyone not named Lebron, Wade, Paul, Howard could probably be had for the likes of Deng, Marion, Gerald Wallace etc. Thats a pretty big drop for me.

If the Magic would consider him. Thats all on the front office. Right now I don't see the pieces to even discuss it.

It's really sad, because the kid seemed to be getting his act together, and now this rash of problems.
