Can We All Agree Howard Complains Too Much?

Post#1 » by magicfan4life05 » Sat May 10, 2008 11:44 pm

like WAY TOO MUCH??

and he was essentially taken out of the game b/c he was not mentally strong enough to stay focused and mentally in the game?

Im just going to say, he was basically crying all night and was completely taken out of the game by it. C'MON, this is the PLAYOFFS!!!!

When are you going to just grow up and just play basketball, sometimes things dont go your wory, WORK AROUND IT AND DO SOMETHING

omg

He's getting held every single posession and can't get a shot off without getting pushed 15 feet back.

It's been apparent all season. People never bring this up. When he is not doing well, he is always turning to the officials in hopes they bail him out. Something that pisses me off about him, besides the fact that he only learned one offensive move in his four year career.

I'm not saying trade him, I'm not saying i hate him, I'm not saying he sucks, but as a 4th year player in this league, who is a 1st team all nba player, in the 4th quarter of a crucial playoff game, I thought he was not mentally in the game. I'm not bashing, this is an observation, people who say I'm bashing are ignoring the real issue. Howard is my boy, my fav player, my partner in crime, but this hurts.

He was trying extremely hard in the 4th. Every time he went for a rebound he was being held by two different people.

DWight is mentally soft yes.. He does have the determination to fix it though.. Just like his FT's and his progression on offense..

Wtf, no. Dwight is smart. He's been watching Duncan and Sheed play. He's been taking lessons. ALL of the good teams complain. Too bad their complaining actually pays off. Give it time, Dwight. He has legitimate reasons too, though. Dwight needs BS reasons to complain, so when he actually has a point and is getting fouled, refs will call it.

You can't blame Howard for the poor rebounding. He's the only guy out there competing with up to three Pistons players for rebounds.

I wouldn't say it cost us the game but Howard does complain a lot and does look to the officials to bail him out when things don't go his way. He was being hammered and held all game long by many different Piston players but the officials were letting it go so he should have adjusted and returned the favor. It was a very tough game and the Pistons played better than us.

Big men have to posture for calls. All the good ones do.

75% of the league are not superstar bigmen playing in the nba playoffs who are the most valuable player to their team.

I'm not saying he cost us the game, that would be silly thinking, it was a factor obviously which contributed to his play.

you won't see it very often against teams that actually know how to play defense and read scouting reports.

He needs to complain more. Hedo should take notice.

They're pushing him, pulling him doing all kinds of dirty stuff when he does 1/3th of that he's getting called for a foul, when Mcdyess strangles him and throws him no technical. Sorry but the refs are killing Dwight.

I think I agree with you here. I believe he needs to maintain his focus and tenacity at the same time though. Too often he gets frustrated and loses concentration and focus on the game. Also, if the officials are going to let it go like they did tonight and often do in the playoffs then he shouldn't let there be a 1-3 ratio of what they are doing to him vs what he is dishing out on them. He should adjust and bring the rough game just as hard, if not harder, than they are.
