Just throwing this out there

Portland wants to trade there #1 pick bad-want a veteran rather than a rookie

Portland- JJ Redick and 1st rounder
Orlando- #13 and 1 of Portlands 3 2nd round picks

Portland gets Redick (not a vet but better than a rookie) and can draft a European player at end of 1st round to stash over for few years

Orlando gets Darrell Arthur(Who Otis Smith is in love with-and no that is NO RUMOR) Kevin Love or can take a chance on Donte Green

and with the early 2nd rounder gets depth at either PG or SG maybe a COurtney Lee/Lester Hudson combo guard

This trade works for both teams!!!!!!!!!!

John Gabriel to the rescue?

I can't possibly see this as true.

Isn't JJ effectively a rookie?

This sounds like the many rumors that float around in any league not just basketball.
And none of them have ever turned into the truth.

They have a better SG prospect in Rudy Fernandez.

They might want Fran though.

I like hearing stuff like this. It is interesting how many options there are to make a move to improve the team. Being a GM is not as easy as it might seam from the computer chair....

If Portland wanted to trade out of their spot that would be great. The last I heard was that they were trying to make room for Fernandez on the squad so I don't know if JJ would make sense for them. Evans actually would be the type of veteran "glue" guy that they could use. Kinda like Battier was to Houston. If they took him and cash we could pick up a nice big in the draft, or maybe even a guy like Batum.

I can see us using JJ to move up around 6 or 7 spots, give or take. The problem that I have is that Collison pulled out of the draft. Now there isn't any good pg's in that range, and if its a big man we want, we might as well stay where we are unless we can make a bigger jump. There isn't a dramatic difference in talent between the two spots. I like Portland's roster though. There are few deals that we can do with them that would be cool with me. Hedo and a future first for Aldridge and Jack would be better.

two year on the bench makes him worse. I don't think you get anything but a scrub for JJ not even a significant move up in the draft.

Yeah, the mocks have Arthur going at so many different spots......

Some top 10, Some Lottery, and some in our range......

Should be interesting to see what happens.

personally, from what I have seen I think he's top 15-16 material, I dont think I would pick him if he's on the board and I have a top 10 pick...but teams have to go for whats around, and honestly there are a lot of mystique players this year, I think guys like Randolph will go first because of their "upside" and guys like Arthur who should be sure shots will get passed up for flashier names and upside guys...if I had an 11-15 pick and he was around I'd probably take him...depends on who was left...

Why would any team give up something for a SG who 2 coaching staffs basically said cant play in the NBA, not even on a SG starved team like this?

Hell, Augustine might have more trade value at this point than JJ

If we could get the #13 for Redick it would be amazing. Don't see it happening though.

Portland has no need for JJ. He would not play on there roster. They have 2 guys in Europe better than JJ. Redick is like a second round value.
