It all starts with having a distributor. Hedo has court vision, but he's been rendered useless by Tayshaun all series and he sucks at passing into the post. Meer tends to look for himself.

you're going to get yelled at for not putting this in the game thread, but yea he doesn't. Maybe the other teams adjust on him at half time, but yea until he becomes a clutch player and one we go to down at the end of a game, he can't really be considered a super star

Same problem existed when Shaq was in Miami and SVG was coaching him. Shaq never got the ball in the 2nd half against Detroit and outright complained about it. It's a problem you all are going to have to deal with for years.

Did you see Dwight do anything, ANYTHING, that makes you think his having the ball in the 2nd half would've made a difference? Every time he touched it he either turned it over, shot up some garbage hoping he would get fouled, or got fouled and missed the FT's.
Dwight has no offensive game, and against a good defensive team like Detroit he's useless. This wasn't the Raptors.

because dwight still sucks at
a) catching the ball on the move
b) making a move away from the basket
c) putbacks
d) holding on to the ball while he makes a move
e) passing out of doubles quickly and efficiently
to sum it all up, all he knows is how to dunk when he is spoonfed the ball 2 feet from the basket. if you say otherwise you're only kidding yourself, because sometimes he hits short baby hooks when he's on a roll but that's it. rasheed wallace made him his bitch all series long...he has much to improve on, starting with staying mentally strong. I believe he got the ball way more than he should have, and his only job should be to clean up the mess while otehrs penetrate or try to stay open for alley-oops like tyson chandler does.

Boy, maybe it's a compliment to Hedo that people's expectations of him are so high that 17.5 ppg, 47% shooting, and 5.6 assists against one of the league's best defenders is considered "useless". I mean Prince shadowed him the whole series and the guy rarely got an open shot that he didn't have to create for himself. Anyhow, I digress...
Dwight's hands failed him BIG TIME this series. Hedo's post entry passes were just fine during the regular season, so he suddenly doesn't know how to make them? Here was the problem this series in getting the ball to Dwight. Usually Dwight can completely pin his defender and maintain deep position. He wasn't able to do that against the Pistons, and where a lot of guys might take a step forward to receive the entry pass, Dwight tries to maintain the deep position (because he can't do anything away from the basket). That was easy prey for the Pistons defenders to poke the passes away. So the Magic started putting heat on their entry passes to compensate, and while many of the passes were horrible, Dwight's hands were just as atrocious. Also, on pick and rolls Dwight's rolls are half-arse so you see a lot of the passes go off his hands.
In the event that the ball was getting into Dwight, there was a good chane of TO or a foul (equivalent of a TO).
People are appropriately bashing Hedo's TO's, I can't argue with 4.2 TO per game being a problem. But he tried harder than anyone else to get Dwight the ball.

Imagine if Dwight had to do this against Tim Duncan and the Spurs. Oh o.

Plain and simple, Prince took him out of the game. Mr. Fourth quarter also failed to come up big when it counted. Turkoglu's primary value is as our ball-handler and distributor. He's also earned the undue reputation of a clutch player, which he failed to demonstrate on the big stage. His inability to feed Dwight in the post, to get the team working in sync, and to put up his own clutch points really cost us in this series. It is asinine to assume otherwise.
