Kyle Weaver

Is there any chance we can trade for a high 2nd round pick while keeping our 1st rounder? Because I really like the thought of having Kyle Weaver as our SG... Yeah, he's a mediocre shooter, but he would fit extremely well next to Jameer Nelson (provided that he remains a starter next season, which is likely)... amazing defender, great playmaker, good slasher... I think he would be a much better fit to this team than Evans or Bogans.
Anyone else agree?

If we took a big in the first round this should be the plan. Though Weaver is a bit on the smallish side at 6'5'' for a SG.

That's what I'm hoping for, actually. I like CDR and Brandon Rush, but I don't think they are much better than the 2nd round swingmen like Weaver, Courtney Lee, Bill Walker, Giddens, or even Roby.
Right now, I'm just wishing that Darrell Arthur or Speights falls to our hands at 22.

I've got to admit I don't know a lot about him but I've seen people on the draft board tout him as the most probably successful sleeper in the draft.
I don't think we need two rookies next year though, unless they are both very high quality.
I still think we try to find a veteran SG - whether it's Maggette or Childress or something similar - for the MLE and draft a PF to play behind Lewis/Battie/Dwight or even Fran for a year and gain some seasoning by the time the playoffs roll around again.
Kookie, most of the mocks have Arthur, Speights or Robin Lopez dropping to our pick and that doesn't seem too bad at all for what we want out of that position for a young player.

I agree we don't really need 2 rookies. I don't think we have much to offer to move up. I would stay put and take a SG with size like CDR or Rush or Budinger. Unless of course a guy like Arthur or Koufos falls to us.
I would try to get a 2nd round pick, but I would use it to draft Keith Brumbaugh. He has huge upside, and could be put in the D league for year one.
Rush and Brumbaugh is a great draft IMO.

I really hope we can pick up a second round pick...There will be some talent floating around this year

A potential 2nd round big time sleeper as a combo guard is Jamont Gordon from Mississippi State. This guy can do it all and is 6'4. His NBA comparison was Antonio Daniels according to NBADraft.net and that is what we need at PG. I hope if we trade a pick in the 2nd round we can get someone like him or Weaver or Shan Foster(if we don't get one of the bigs like Hendrix or Gist or someone like that).

definitely wouldn't mind taking a risk on brambaugh. would robin lopez be a good fit on this team you think?

He would be a decent fit. He is what we need defensively, but his lack of offensive skills would hurt. I think we need a guy like Arthur more.

Hibbert is VERY skilled, VERY polished Big. Great foul shooter, he played in the princeton offense, which was a guard dominated offense.

Brambaugh just might go undrafted so we could potentially pick him up afterwards

Hibbert is massive. I don't know if I want him next to Dwight though. Great combo on D but would really bog down our offense IMO. Both those guys would have to hang around the basket all the time because neither has any kind of outside game...they are just way too big to create.
