Magic tell Dooling they want him here

Unless the dollars don't make cents to the club, Keyon Dooling will return to the Magic to back up Jameer Nelson at point guard.

The Magic told Dooling during his exit interview last week that they wanted to re-sign him, impressed with his play on the floor and his professionalism in the locker room.

Dooling likely will sign another three-year contract.

He just finished a three-year deal that paid him about $3.5 million a season.

So, I guess our rotation next season will be:
Nelson/Dooling/J-Will?

Happy to hear that

I hope he can get more PT next year, especially when we play against some of the bigger PGs

PG: Nelson, JWill, Dooling
SG: MLE, Dooling, Bogans

Dooling would be just as/a little more expensive than Evans, but he can play the PG spot.

i'm cool with that...

Nelson/Dooling/Rookie or Nelson/Dooling/Veteran not so great, but...if we can beef up in other places we'll have to live with it...

Would you want Dooling to be ahead of the vet PG (assuming he's got the gas left)?

it would just be a matchup thing, depends on what we need...keep in mind that Dooling usually has the green light to go for points...if Nelson needs a break and we need steady leadership and distribution that's where the ideal vet would come in...

^^^

who's your ideal vet?

no J-Will endorsement?

J-Will is alright, I Like Anthony Carter/Anthony Johnson better though, they are bigger and more defensive than Will...

I guess it would depend on matchups. But watching him run the point is painful for me:

He's a shoot first, drive second, pull-up third, pass fourth type of PG.

exactly, thats like i said, he usually has the green light to go for points, he's basically brought in for hustle, defense and to try and attack the basket...

I do NOT want him back in a magic uniform. I cringe whenever he's handiling the ball. The one we need to re-sign is Evans.

Please someone make Dooling a offer!

I forgot about AJ. Not a big fan of Carter. Do you think Johnson is a realistic option for a CHEAP price? I say Williams because of the reports that came out of him saying he'd want to play for Orl and would take the paycut to make it happen.

I think the Magic make the right choice in bringing him back. Dooling's strength is in his defense and definitely is a good guy to have on the team. I don't know what else might be there for us come free agency, but I don't believe this would be a negative move at all.

Good move.. he just needs to stop fouling in crunch time :)

J-Will sucks too. Worst shot selection ever.

I'd take Arroyo over him.

you'd take Arroyo over Will? you'd be making a bad deal...hopefully Otis doesnt employ that train of thought...

J-will is not better (Don't let that game vs. us fool you) Arroyo at least put butts in seat. It's not like he'd be playing in case of an injury. So heck give me Arroyo. J-will is the inventor of the 5 on 1 fastbreak but I'll shoot a 3 that results in a airball.

BUT I DON'T WANT ANY OF THOSE 3 PG'S!

i don't need a game to fool me, i watch a ton of basketball...

J-Williams please...He facilitates and passes, very very well...let me see, Dwight Howard+good passing...works for me...

I'd love for the ninja to return. Glad to hear the Magic still like him.

Plus we get to continue to hear Paul Porter announce his name, "Key-on Dooooooooooooling!"
