If you want Fran for this season it's going to cost you. The buyout clause is still over 10 million US Dollars.
So I think that says everyone who wants to wait for Fran is going to just have to wait one more year just to maybe see him.

In fact it will cost Fran, cuz Magic isnt allowed to pay more than 350mil, IIRC.

Actually that has been changed the NBA allows teams to pay 500 thousand towards a players buyout clause.
But in this case that wouldn't make any real difference.
And you are right Fran has to pay it and I don't see him paying out that kind of money with only one year left on his contract.
So for those of you who want Fran now you need to pool your money together or find a sugar daddy/momma to pay Fran's buyout clause or you just need to wait a year to see if he actually leaves Spain for the US for keeps instead of just a visit like last time.

Thank you, MoMM.
The Orlando Magic organization can not pay Fran's buyout, whether is be 600,000 or 60 Bjillion. We can only pay a small part. So if (s)he wants to come here, (s)he better shell out the dinero.
Also, I wouldn't mind snagging Walter Hermann.

Jason Maxiell.. His current contract is a little over 1 mill, but he has another year and then a qualifying year left on his contract. And the Pistons wouldnt give him to us.
Brandon Bass... His current contract us under a mill. like 770K he has one more year on his contract. Again probably no way we could get him
Ryan Gomes His current contract is around 770K
Kristic is around 1.8 mill
Herman Current contract is around 1.9 mill
Millsap Right now is around 787K and has next year with a team option at 797K, but another guy we dont have a chance at
Carl Landry This last season was getting 427K, next he will be getting 711k and have the team option, but the rockets will lock him up.
These are just some guys I think might be able to contribute on the team, but probably close to none of them can we get or we will get

Why cant we simple find a cheap player in the summer leagues? We never find one, just scrubs and guys who has potential to be a sub in 5 years...

Because the summer leagues are full of watered down talent and undrafted rookies. If we're lucky, we get some bench-level players on our team (e.g. kasib powell, roger mason, desmond pennegar), but even then we're usually too stupid to sign them.
**** it. Let's just resign Garrity.

I'm weary of trading with the Pistons anymore. Seems we get the lesser end of the deal
when it's all said and done.

There are a lot of veteran bigs we can get for cheap as well. Kurt Thomas will be a free agent this offseason, and I believe he had a lot of interest in being traded to us during the trade deadline... He'll be a good 4th big man off the bench, along with Battie.

How much would he cost though? I know right this year on his end year of the contract he was getting 8 mill. I knoq there is no way someone will resign him at that, but what will he settle for. Im not sure how much id be willing to give him cause hes old now.

Noah just got cheap:
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Authorities in Gainesville have charged Chicago Bulls forward and former Florida star Joakim Noah with possession of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol.

Nah, I don't see this damaging Noah's trade value much, although it does mean that it's virtually guaranteed that the Magic will not trade for him.
