Yeah that's excellent for him, I really liked the kid and wish he didn't have to leave here, but I'm glad it's working for him even with those POS injuries he gets..

I thought it was board fodder that got the most out of the trade ... but this post made me reconsider.

Ariza played 1 minute in the last game and has a 0-0-0-0-0-0-0 box-score. Not really something a player would be happy about.

I disagree. I wouldn't really care too much about winning a ring on a team where I've only played for a couple of weeks, only to go out for a few months and see my new teammates catch fire all of a sudden and steamroll towards the championship while watching from the bench.

To me the journey is more important than the destination. Just my opinion.

So you'd reject the ring and the extra paychecks if you were in his shoes? ;-)

Heck no, I'd take the extra paycheck and get myself some new shoes that'll help my get another ring where I'd actually have played enough to credit myself for one tiny diamond somewhere in the corner. :eyebrows:

It's got to be the shoes!!

Ariza is having a (Pistons era) Darko like impact on the Lakers.

Although, I really like Ariza, I don't want the Lakers to win it because of the Gasol trade. No way that any team would've gotten Gasol that cheap.. Thinking about it I don't want any of the four teams left to win it.. I guess Detroit would be my pick because we lost to them..

For me it is hard to separate the journey from the destination. If the team does not win the title, there is not destination. So winning the title is required. Thus, the journey depends on the destination.

But I guess the point is that not playing means that one is not part of the journey.
