Troy Murphy- THE LAST PIECE

Post#1 » by Magic Whore » Sat May 31, 2008 3:08 pm

Ok before you guys start off on the whole slow white guy thing look deeper into this guy's game. We all know he's a great shooter with up to 3 point range, but check out his stats from his first 5 or so years- DOUBLE DIGIT REBOUNDS. As much as i like to dream of us somehow getting elton brand, et al for scrath thats ridiculous. Murphy WOULD without a doubt help our team as well as giving us another shooter to spread the floor. Trade for smurphy and draft hibbert and with the returning of tony battie we now have one of the Best and potentially deepest frontcourts in the east

http://realgm.com/src_playerfile/141/troy_murphy/ honestly the man's only been in the leauge 6 yrs w career avgs of 13 and 8 with above 35 % shooting from 3's. You guys are crazy if you think he wouldn't be an upgrade over whoever the hell they plan on inserting in the pf slot next yr. At least explain why you think that murph wouldn't work here if you dont believe me

Murphy could have a place on this team, but I don't think he's "the last piece." He's too pricey and not the best option. I see where you're coming from, though.

Murphy is a nice player, but he is not an upgrade over Lewis. And he is redundant to Cook.

I cannot see a role for him on the Magic roster.

He would be a nice addition at least...But his contract just kills it

Not to mention in a couple years he will become the heir to Pat Garritys throne

For being a Magic whore, why am I the one that feels so used? Sorry nube, couldn't resist. Welcome to the board, but starting a thread like this is going to get you initiated very quickly.

i don't agree with Murphy's contract, but he'd fit the team well. his defense aint the best, but he grabs boards, which is far more than you can say for any player on our team not named Dwight Howard. plus his game stretches to the 3pt line on offense. that would make Cook redundant..... if Cook didn't come at a third of the price :D

the next PF i would like to see added to the team should be Tony Battie x10.

Definitely not the last piece. I agree with you assessment for the most part but I don't think he or his contract are what we need right now.

Chris Wilcox is much closer to that piece than TM. And we're closer to two pieces away than one.

i wouldnt mind having him on this team, i think hed fit nicely and it wouldnt hurt to have him helping with rebounds, but ya his contract isnt worth it, and he most definitely would not be the last piece

Yeah I think Troy Murphy would fit in beautifully with this team. He can rebound and shoot the j. . Id rather have Udonis though
