Any interest in JO or Tinsley

Post#1 » by greenway84 » Fri Jun 6, 2008 5:20 pm

Just wondering if you guys have any interest in either of these two. I thought I read somewhere you wanted a big next to Howard. And I also thought that Van Gundy wanted a bigger PG. I could be very wrong though. LOL. Thanks in advance for your input. Good luck next year!

No thanks, JO is WAYYY overpayed and always injured

and Tinsley is also always seeming to be hurt or in legal problems...

Sorry, but no thanks.

I'd love Tinsley off the bench, but he's makin too much $ for his output and his past with the injuries and off the court stuff dont make him very desirable to the Magic. JO would be great next to Dwight, but his salary would choke this franchise and his health is so uncertain...Talent wise I'd add them both to this club right now...we just cant...

nope, that guy is making 44mill the next 2 years and cant stay on the court, tinsley is no better..these guys spend just as much time off the court then on...if your saying would i want JO, yea if he took the MLE or LLE, but not trading no players for him, not worth it

the team wont be moving Shard, and considering Shard's output for the team as well as his age and his cleaner bill of health I would say absolutely not...plus I dont think right now is a good time for the Pacers to be taking on any huge salaries like Rashards, not unless you are getting a franchise player...

I wouldn't want to take O'Neal and his salary for the same injury reasons that have been mentioned, but I do suspect that if he were on a winning team that those injuries might suddenly heal. Then again, that may be another knock on him.

I'd love a healthy O'Neal up front with Dwight, but like Thief said, we just can't.

Go ahead, Pacers, buy him out!

Oh well cant blame a guy for trying. Thanks for a very mature response. I have to say the Blazers and Magic have to be my too favorite teams oth er than my Pacers simply because of the talent and great charecters both teams have been able to bring in. I've rooted for your Magic the last 2 years in the playoffs.

P.S. How about Murphy for Howard straight up. LOL

thanks, but being a pacer fan, you know how it is, JO and tinsley are very good players, just their contracts and health issues dont match up well...trade us granger and diener and you have a deal

I think that the Magic would have to make that trade in a New York minute.

I don't think that the Pacers would do it because they already have a SF in Granger and Dunleavy can play some there as well.

I know that the team had a decent year and Shard was the big signing last year but his contract is going to absolutely kill the Magic in the coming years. JO's deal would expire in a couple years and the Magic could add an actual Max contract player (Bron, Wade, Bosh) to play with Dwight rather than a guy that was at the right place at the right time.

i agree with this, rashards contract is gonna choke our team down the line, this is the perfect opportunity to trade it away for a decent player who is expiring in two years, that means after this next season, JO's contract will suddenly be very appetizing for teams that are lookin to rebuild.

not only that but we might even be able to get the pacers to throw in there in draft pick this year too....theres all this talk of trading hedo for a pick in the 5-8 range, well if we do this trade, wed be trading shard for the 11th pick and a huge expiring contract after one season.
During the Wizards' rout, a heckler yelled at new Knick Steve Francis, "Hey Stevie, Where are you going next?" Francis turned to the fan and quipped, "To the bank."

Youre leaving out Dwights and Jameers extensions. Not to mention whatever Hedo gets next year. We wouldnt be in a position to add a max player, we wouldnt have the cap space. We only had the window for a max free agent open for 1 season, and that window is now closed.

Not Tinsley.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

Wow, I would love that additional talent but I just don't see how we could make it happen financially. I'm with Thief, Devon and Magicman123 on this one.
