Clippers - Phoenix?

As per wiretap, apparently Phx and LAC are talking about a Maggette/7 for Barbosa/15. Could we slide in and offer LA a better package? Something like Hedo, JJ, 22? Barbosa is a good, young 6th man, but he isn't a quality starting PG (or really a PG at all), which is what LA seems to be looking for. In Hedo, they get a guy who can help run their offense.
Thoughts?

So could we entice LA with Hedo, jj, and 22? Is that a package that could net us Maggette and 7?

so lets say that hedo is worth a bit more than maggette.... jj and the 22 are no where near the value of the #7... i dont think that th clipps would do this either... if we add another 1st its a little closer to fair but then the magic probably decline... that would be a tough trade to work....

i don't put much stock in guys available at 7 unless it's Love or Galinari.
but i put a lot of stock in what Hedo brings the team (i'm willing to admit i'm a massive Hedo homer for the moment, until the rest of the team can show they can operate at 50win level without him)

Do you put any stock in Maggette? If so, it's a good deal for us.

before we even think of sending hedo anywhere, see if the clippers can somehow be convinced to take rashard .
that is all.

the only downfall of this pipe dream is that the clips just drafted a stud in thorton to play the sf spot for them last year

Barbosa is a better prospect right now than Maggette
I would love to find a way to get him on this team

Sorry since Redick hasn't really played he isn't going to get you what you want instead you are going to have to offer Bogans instead.
Oh that means you will have to endure Redick for at least two more years with that deal.

I see where ur coming from but Maggette is the sg this team needs allowing Shard to move back to his natural position. We lose the ballhandling of Turk but we add the playmaker we need from the guard position who gets to the line frquently and shoots it at a high percentage. Then we have the #7 to get a pf or backup pg for ballhandling

This argument doesn't sell it for me. Corey is listed as a small forward and has been pretty much since he got in the league. What, you say? There's no difference between a snall forward and a shooting guard? Well, then why can't you play Hedo there? What's that? Hedo's going to want so much money? Why do you think Corey is opting out of his contract?
And by the way, Corey is not a good ball handler. He gets the ball and he scores (or at least tries) pretty much every time he gets the ball. He doesn't really handle the ball except when he drives to the basket. I love Corey, but those arguments aren't exactly spot on.

Yes, we get it. You don't want JJ to leave, you want him to stay and play for Orlando. But does that mean that you have to:
1) continue to shoot down every trade suggestion involving him,
2) remind us all at every possibility that Mo Evans may be leaving and Keyon Dooling is also a free agent
3) dismiss every single suggestion of drafting a SG in favour of drafting a big, because although Brandon Rush, Courtney Lee or CDR all seem set to have better pro careers than Jason Thompson or Robin Lopez, if we picked one of those they would be in direct competition for minutes with JJ, and we can't have that.
4) rip into Jameer Nelson's size and defensive deficiencies at every opportunity, because his faults impact on the amount of time Redick can get on the court with the current set up. (Never mind the two ironies that a) size and lack of defense are probably the two main reasons Redick has struggled in the NBA, but you ignore that, and b) You also continually tear into Keyon Dooling and seem to be glad he is going, but he is perhaps the Magic PG best suited to getting JJ minutes, with his size and defensive ability.)
We get it, JJ is your favourite player. By some stretch, as well, it would seem. But most of us come on here to talk about ways in which the Magic can get better, not how they can facilitate playing time for a guard who at pro level is seemingly going to be little more than designated gunner, 9th off the bench. I honestly think that you would find a reason to be against it if the Lakers offered us Kobe, Odom and Bynum for Hedo, Rashard and JJ.

Maggette is definitely a sg who is playing sf because of their investment in Cat in the past. I agree though that because they have Thornton, that Barbosa is more attractive to them right now. A Hedo trade seems thin and we don't have any other assets to get him, unless Corey states that he won't resign with anyone but us, again not very likely. I've put the Maggette dreams to bed awhile ago now.
