The (Around the League) Offseason Thread

One of these threads might be useful for the next few days.

How about the rumor for between Seattle and Miami assuming that Minnesota picks Lopez or Love?

#2 Beasley

for

Chris Wilcox
#4 OJ Mayo

That would leave Miami with a Wade, Marion, and Mayo trio. Thats pretty sick. Solid role players like Cook, Wilcox, and Haslem. Not good news for the Magic.

heck what about the sonics... they would be set up to drastically improve over the next few seasons... beasley and durant would be a big time 1-2 punch... but yeah no matter what the heat are doing they are going to be WAY better than last year... they are going to cause us problems no matter what

Miami would be stupid to pass that up if they were really working on a deal like that...

Mayo
Wade
Marion
Haslem
Wilcox

that's a pretty serious lineup...

and to be honest, it would be a good deal for Seattle as well, they get a quality big in Beasley and they just need that oh so elusive PG they have been searching for forever, not to mention moving Wilcox gives them decent cap space...

PS. im going to sticky this so we can build on it and clean up a bit...

There would probably be some other picks involved from Seattle, possibly the #33, since the trade still favors Seattle a bit and Miami only has our 2nd rounder at 52 or so.

Apparently Wade and Mayo have been working out and Wade really wants to play with him. Mayo is the shooter, ball handler and defender that Wade needs next to him in the backcourt. Passing on Beasley could bite them in the a$$ though. A Wade, Beasley and Marion trio is just as sick but not as balanced with Haslem having to play out of position at the 5 or coming off the bench.

Another one is Marion in a SNT to the Clippers for Maggs and the #7.

That would leave the Heat with:
? __________ Westbrook
Wade __________ Wade
Maggs ____OR____ Maggs
Beasley __________ Beasley
Lopez __________ ?

or in combo with that first trade...

Mayo/Cook
Wade/Cook
Maggs/Wright
Haslem/Wilcox
Lopez/Wilcox
:o

So that Sonics-Heat deal only happens if the wolves pass on mayo?? Don't think that will happen, wolves will take mayo

Anybody hear anything new about that Nuggets-Grizz deal for the #20??

I would assume so. It seems like the Heat want Mayo but not at the #2 since Beasley is there and can bring them more value. Its not impossible to think that McHale takes a big like Love or Lopez. They have shown interest in both.

^ If Minny doesn't take Mayo tho, wont they trade the pick to someone who does? Worst case scenario(Mayo refuses to play there??), they would probably still be more apt to take Mayo and trade his right for Love/Lopez + a future or something. Knicks might be up for that trade..... Mchale would be stupid not to either pick Mayo or trade the pick tho, which IS a definate possibility i guess with McHale calling the shots.

IIRC the rumor was #20 and Kleiza for #28 and Lowry. I don't see the Nuggets giving up Kleiza for that though, he played well last season and the buzz was that they didn't want to include him in a deal for Artest - so why would they trade him for that package??

wow,

Brand, Wade, Haslem and #7 being anyone from Mayo, Westbrook, Alexander, Lopez, Gordon, Love or Bayless...I would assume they would go PG or C

Wade/Brand/Lopez
Wade/Brand/Westbrook
Wade/Gordon/Brand
Bayless/Wade/Brand

all pretty nice

Yeah, good point. It looks like Denver's giving up more than Memphis and they're the ones moving back.....?!? I dont see them trading Kleiza now (along with the #20) just for Lowry and a worse pick. It doesn't make sense after they turned down Artest, but at the same time they need a starting PG so who knows.......

Its also rumored that if that trade went down, memphis would take lee with the #20

Olympiacos isn't far from stealing Anthony Parker from Toronto. I've heard 2 big contract offerings:
3 years 21 million EURO plus a signing bonus.
3-4 year deal for 5.3 million EURO per season plus a 1 million EURO signing bonus.

OLY is also looking at possibly getting Azubuike.

Do not forget that in Europe, contract numbers are after tax. So your speculation is around US$10 million a year!!! No matter how good one's sister is, 10M per is a lot of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Espn 2 draft special, Andy Katz said Memphis and Denver are still talking about the #20/#28 trade
