I wish he would try alittle, make a couple of phone calls...so atleast there is some buzz out there about us...commom atleat a rumor or two...I think between Hoopsworld and Realgm we are the least talked about team on the rumor front.Otis is living off of Dwight Howard and he did not even draft him...the only thing Otis has said was during the finals and that was he thinks we should still be playing....lol...that is the worst thing he could be thinking right now becasue in his mind we just need to mature...we need more than that....I am just tired of hearing all these names floating around, all these creative ways that teams are trying to improve themselves and not a peep about the Magic. I love Rashard Lewis but all he did was back up the truck and over pay for a guy that did not even make the All Star team. I could have done that, shoot anyone of us could have put a team with Howard in the playoffs. When Otis did not get us a perimture defender or a big body to help Dwight with all those expiring contracts at the trade deadline this year he let us down and what did the Magic do...they extended him.

There was talk that we were going to get a 2nd round pick, which will likely happen. I remember reading an article where Otis stated our needs and we were going to fix them, and he was right on.

lol.....are you serious? of course I can knock him.... maybe not for what he has not done yet but look at the trade deadline last year, no reason for not getting help when I know there had to be team willing to take on Garrity or Arroyo's contracts. Don't even get me started on his drafting...
2005 Fran Vazquez over anyone was a mistake but when Danny Granger is sitting on the board that was just pure stupid. Second Round Travis Diener then two picks later Monta Ellis...Wow...2006 in all fairness that was a horriable draft but he had 4 years to watch Redick NOT be able to defend College players so he drafts him over Thabo Sefloosha and Ronnie Brewer. In 2007 we had no pick because we traded it to Detriot for Darko and Arroyo which was not a bad trade but what was bad was not atleat giving Darko a call and let him know what our intetions are, that kind of stuff makes the Magic look bad...oh and by the way with that pick the Pistons drafted Rodney Stucky, I think we all know that name now.That is not really Otis fault but we got nothing for that pick so why even trade for Darko if you never planned to keep him.

The problem is. This damn ballboy is bringing back my anxiety about how Otis has made so many mistakes in the draft. The only thing that gives me some comfort. Is that SVG may have some input on this draft.

lol yea seriously. The dude works his ass off all year long, just because you don't hear about it doesn't mean it's not happening. He's on the phone constantly.

The real truth is Otis probably loves it that the Magic don't pop up in rumors. When you get mentioned in rumors it creates more problems, suddenly it's all anyone is talking about, even if it's dead. And sometimes rumors can kill a deal because another team can get word of it and try and either sabotage the deal or come over the top of it and kill it anyway.

I cant understand posts like yours. Do you have someone on the inside that gives you inside info? Did you hire a private investigator to follow Otis around? Did you tap Otis's phone to listen to his conversation? How do you know that he is not making phone calls or talking to other teams about potential trades? The logic is that i havent heard anything so he must be sitting on his ass playing solitare......

Sure.....It's great to have all those rumors out there.

I'm sure Melo is going to come back happy as can be about the fact that there were rumors out there all summer he could be traded.

Jermaine O'Neal, too, with the Pacers if he doesn't end up getting moves.

Nothing makes players happier and makes them more productive than having them mentioned in a bunch of trades all summer that all are bogus and never end up happening and then they have to come back next year and play for that same team.

Wow...that's all I can really say about some of your reactions. I agree with the original poster, not on the "not hearing any rumors" front, but with the general idea. There is no defense to not dealing those expirings for something, anything that would have made us better. To me, it does seem like he doesn't do anything creative, instead just overpays for people.
