Magic Trade Thread (Post ALL Trade Ideas Here)

I wanted to hear form more Orlando fans on this proposal I made in the Trades forum:

Hedo for Marcus, Josh, KVH and '09 1st

With KVH's instant expiring (see linked thread for an explanation) coming off of the Magic's books, you could have enough capspace to sign Maggette to a larger-than-MLE deal. IMO, that would go a long way toward scaring off Sterling, and eliminate other suitors. Let's not forget, Boone and Williams are a promising pair of youngsters, with championship experience.

Alright, let me know what you think. Please respond in the linked thread, though, not this one. Thanks.

OK, so it's Lopez, Boone, Williams and two 1sts for Hedo, a guy who can opt out after the year? Lemme think about this for a moment...

Learn from Sacramento's mistakes in handling Artest and his opt-out. Don't lose Hedo for nothing, just because you're not in a position to extend him for the $ he's worth.

i'm not opposed to moving him, but not for this deal. Most likely if we move him it'll be for another "star" player at a different position that we need help with. But even then it's unlikely we move Hedo because Stan and Otis love him.

OK, I can understand that. I have probably arrived at a couple of conclusions in my mind, but I should ask you all how YOU think Turkoglu's situation will play out.

I had figured the Magic were NOT planning on extending Hedo, assuming that he should stand to receive lucrative offers (~ $38mil over 4 years?) next summer. Is this true, or will ORL break the bank for him? Would Hedo take a paycut to stay with Dwight?

Also, IF the Magic move Hiyadet, I assumed the logical answer would be to surround Howard with youth at positions of need, like Boone and Marcus. Would the Magic truly prefer bringing in another veteran at PF in a Hedo trade, to complement a 22yo superstar? Turkgolu could fetch Odom (28), Okur (29), Rasheed (33) or someone like that, but WHY???? It just seems short-sighted.

I love Hedo, but the more I think about were probably going to have to move the guy. Unless were going to trade Lewis which I would prefer. If we can find someone to trade Lewis to that would be great, but were prob going to have to trade Hedo if we want to get anything of value in return because I don't belive we will have the money to pay him once his contract is up.

First off, Zach is cancer, nobody wants him.

To answer your first question, Disney is about 20-25 minutes down Interstate 4 (depending on traffic) from where the Magic play (downtown).

And regarding the second one, baseball sucks. Except for when the marlins spank on the Yankees in the world series.

1. About 25-30 minute highway travel time from Disney to downtown (Amway Arena)
2. Marlins games are in Miami - about 3 and a half hours, Rays play in Tampa - About 40 mins from Disney area

In light of that "$10mil for 5 players" article, I think a deal like this, to bring in two quality young roleplayers while freeing $6mil in capspace, would be a great opportunity for the Magic.

Most Nets fans that have responded to my proposal don't even like the fact that a future 1st in in the deal for a guy we won't keep longer than two years. But I think it's fair.

Are there more Orlando fans who want to respond?

Let me explaing the problem we have. Hedo is probably the lowest paid Allstar caliber player. We will not get anything of value in trading him and due to the salary difference we cant afford a trade with other allstar type players. Also since he is our major playmaker, trading him will have to bring some who can also be a playmaker which will be very hard to find.

Hedo Turkoglu is reported by GM smith to not be on the open market. Only, a "WOW" trade can get a deal done.

Walt Disney World is in Lake Buena Vista outside of Kissimmee. Neither are particularly close to Orlando. And this is far from down-town Orlando (for a tourist to Orlando). Also, there is basically ZERO public transport between sites.

The Old Circus-World, then Boardwalk & Baseball, hosted various minor league teams. The Marlins and TB Rays have never played in the Orlando area as a regular-season game.

*waits for everyone to go crazy*

On a serious note. If the Clippers are going to sign Davis (likely), they'll have to release Maggette's bird rights, which means they would be unable tod o a sign and trade with him, or Livingston for that matter.

So unless you can convince the Clippers to take Hedo over Baron Davis, your proposal "is moo. Like a cow's opinion. It doesn't matter. It's moo. "
