Conspiracy theory: Was D12 in a Nike cover-up?

Dwight Howard is the only player on the U.S. Olympic team that isn't sponsored by a Nike company (he wears adidas). Is that why his shoes were blocked in this photo?

Earlier this week, I offered up my thoughts on the USA Basketball jerseys unveiled by Nike. It turns out that there was more brewing in the promotional photo than I had thought.

And it all centers around Orlando Magic star Dwight Howard.

Here's a hint: adidas.

hahaha. that's awesome. He shouldn't have to hide his freaking shoes though. Maybe Nike will buyout Adidas.

Or pay them to let him wear Nikes for the Olympics. That'd be funny.

This is nothing new. Michael Jordan deliberately draped a flag over his right shoulder during the Olympic medal ceremony in 1992, in order to cover up the Reebok logo and avoid any controversy with Nike.

Yeah, I remember Jordan and the flag...

On another note, DH has a big Nike swoosh showing on his jersey. I'm surprised they didn't have him standing the way Bosh is, who is right next to him.

However, Adidas' biggest fear has been confirmed. I'm going to go buy a new pair of Nike shoes right now. BRB

yea it looks like that was an error. Or maybe they took a couple pictures and decided this one was ok cause you can't really tell the shape (at least not from the image in the link I can't, pic is too small).

Funny that his hand is also covering his nike swoosh on his shorts though.

For what it is worth, Converse is now owned by Nike. Dwight is the only non-Nike athlete pictured.

nike owns converse. just like melo is sponsored by jordan, another subsidiary of nike.
