I know the obvious player would be Maggette but those chances are slim and he's yelling show me the MONEY! to his agent. The Magic need a better starting SG, but we only have the MLE to play with right so here's who we should look at IMO.

Offer the Full MLE

-Ricky Davis
-Michael Peitrus
- Keleena Azibuike
- Childress

Upgrades at the C/F pos.
- Fransico Elson ( might have to pay him this much if Duhon got it already)
- Diop
- Kurt Thomas

Or we could split it on guys like...

- Devin Brown and Doleac
- Michael Ruffin and Livingston

yea, don't offer the full MLE to any of those players

I'd take Brian Skinner as a cheap big man.. hes pretty good

I like Pargo if we can't get MP or CM.

What about Bonzi Wells/Ricky Davis...how much will that type of guy get in an MLE only envorinment?

What would it take to get Nenad Krstic signed and traded from NJ? Exactly how down on him are they?

I hear ya but I would focus on the unrestricted because teams can not automatically match those offers.

James Posey or Quinton Ross....we need defensive minded guys on this team.

The magic need to sign Thief. From what I read on here Thief is good at playing ball.

OTIS PLEASE GET KURT THOMAS ON THIS TEAM!!. Hes the offensive big man we need that can shoot the midrange J and rebound while dwight is posting up/getting doubled. If we sign him for cheap use the rest on veteran PG Jason Williams or Roger Mason..azuibuike but hes probably going to a team for the full MLE

- Ricky Davis at the MLE is actually market value. And he is a fit. (even if over paid)
- Between Mickael Pietrus (a player of MASS past discussion) and Kelenna Azubuike, Kelenna is perhaps the prospect with more future room for growth. Either at the half-MLE is an interesting idea. And the Magic need a combo-wing if Bogans is shipped. Keep your eyes on both!
- Josh Childress is not unlike the above two, but he has more marketability to sell tickets. Another player to consider at a half-MLE.

- Francisco Elson is an interesting idea to replace Garrity's roster slot. He brings immediate 3rd string depth behind Howard and Battie. Half-MLE might be to much though.
- DeSagana Diop just got rich. Full stop.
- Kurt Thomas looks certain to re-up with the Spurs. Why would he move on?

So, guard suggestions all look plausible. And Elson is a nice player to build depth.

I'd still throw the full MLE at Childress and hope that Atlanta balks. He is a stud and will produce much better than that pay day.

Childress was and still is my pick of realistic options, even over Mags. i've convinced myself that Atlanta would match a full MLE, but, maybe not. they're gonna have A LOT of salary soon if they're paying max to JJ, Bibby AND Smith. plus Williams needs to re-up next season.

that's a lot of money for Atlanta to pay for a backup SG, when they only narrowly scraped into the playoffs last season.

Kristic would be terrible. Since his injuries he has been useless.

Childress will get at least the full MLE, which I might do, rickey buckets would be good here as well
