I was watching ...well, it doesn't matter, but I noticed this:



Cartoon ended in 1988. Magic started in 1989. I find it very (disturbing) hard to believe that there wasn't inspiration drawn from the toon.

i think it's a coincidence. Other than both having a star as part of the lettering, i don't see anything else. And let's be honest, stars and magic is nothing new.

Still interesting though. And why were you watching something with this? lol. I think that's the more interesting subject.

I could only hope this is not where they got the idea for the magic.

I have an older sister by 2yrs so I rememebr watching this when I was a kid (We only had one TV). But talking about cartoons, I do miss cartoons that were like that. Now they have become either too realistic looking taking away from the cartoon aspect or there just way to dumb and cheesy. Old Disney movies kick new Disney movies Asses. However I did see Kung Fu Panda, I will leave my opinions to myself

Depends if you include Pixar produced ones or not - as much as love the classic Disney toons that I grew up watching, Toy Story, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., Ratatouille and Wall-e (and most of their others) are amazing.

I've just realised how weird it is that I am discussing this on here.

There's a pretty cool book called Making Magic by Pat Williams and Larry Guest that goes over all of the little details of creating the franchise, including logo and court design, uniforms, mascot, etc.

I don't remember what, if anything, was inspiration for the logo.
