Lee for a PG?

Heck, if some team has fallen in love with draft pick Courtney Lee during his summer-league debut and would offer a serviceable point guard, Smith would have to look at it.

if lee is destined to be a back up SG why not?

we have only few trade asset :
JJ ,lee and bogans ,i don tthink we'll trade cook ,he is too valuable to our team (only one of the few PF is this league who can shot the 3 like that ,and it's why we trade ariza for him)

nelson
pietrus
hedo,lewis
lewis,battie,cook,auggie
howard,battie,gortat,foyle

when we drafted Lee ,we really though that we could get duhon in FA, but now that we missed on duhon and got our starting SG and already have few decent back up SG (bogans+JJ) ,trading lee could be a logic move.

critterion+ 2nd rounder for lee ? (or even critterion+arthur for Lee+fran+2nd)
then we could sign a vet like armstrong (or J williams)
sign byears

nelosn,critterion,armstrong
pietrus,bogans,JJ
hedo,lewis,bogans,byears
lewis,battie,cook,auggie
howard,battie,gortat,foyle

I don't want to trade Lee, but I do think it's safe to trade Redick now.

My guess would be Otis offers Lee + a future first for Chalmers or Arthur.

No way, BS is an idiot. Give the guy a chance before we trade him and don't know what he could be.

Trade Lee? Hell no! Just get rid of JJ Redick.

Yes lets trade one of our best players for trash in return. Great idea.

Any way, I could see us sending Bogans or Reddick to some one for a PG. We need to move one or the other since we now have 4 SGs.

Lee is one of the magic's best players?

I'd wait a while before making that claim.......

Look folks, GM Smith has to take all offers seriously. If team X offered a solid 15-20 mpg PG for a salary level equivalent to Lee, he would have some real and hard soul searching. This is not an easy choice on either side of this fence.

Quote of the day

Smith doesn't appear nervous about the situation, but as he once told me, "I'm like a duck in water. I might look calm, but I'm paddling like crazy underneath."

I love it

You can wait all you like. I've seen the kid play. He is going to be one of our top players this year, whether he is coming off the bench or starting.

If you are going to trade lee then why didn't we just draft a PG. I know he planned on getting Duhon but there had to be a secondary reason for us drafting lee. I dont think Otis put all of his eggs in one basket by hoping about Duhon.

agreed, he has played in a few summer league games and now he is one of our best, come on I am not sure of the defenition of a homer but this is a little early for that kind of talk.

Umm, I thought that we couldn't trade Lee because we just signed him... It is the drafted players that have yet to sign contracts that are able to be traded.

Sure you can take a hard look at an offer but you dont accept it. The kid looked great in Summer League an displayed alot of talents that will make him a great ball player for us.

you guys can kill the trade Lee stuff because the Magic have already signed him to a contract, they WILL NOT be able to trade him before December. You can trade a draft pick as long as he's unsigned but once the contract is signed just like with free agents you have to wait.

this has a BS article written all over it, and brian cook should be very tradable..we will have to make a trade to get a solid backup pg, unless otis finds a way to lure some of the decent ones left to orlando...
