Emeka Okafor is ready to move on [Wiretap]

A source with knowledge of the negotiations says Emeka Okafor is ready to move on, rather than accept what the Charlotte Bobcats have offered long-term for his services.

Okafor would be an unrestricted free agent next summer, but the Bobcats might be inclined to negotiate a sign-and-trade now in order to get value back for him.

I for one am ready to go after him. Trade Hedo/1st Round/JJ Redick/Keith Bogans/Tony Battie or whoever just to get him.

and I don't think they will get much value back for him. But I think we might have the best offer. Depending on what others teams what to give away.

I'm just happy to have taken Superman.

Emeka is nice, but I wouldn't give Hedo for him.

we dont need emeka. he would crowd the lane for dwight. emeka's defender could leave him open and double dwight bc emeka has no reliable shot. he's too good to be a backup pf or c so the magic have absolutely no use for him. we'd be much off with someone like david west or haslem who can open things up for dwight with his deadly midrange game, but still be a legit pf on the defensive end (unlike lewis who does a btr job than i thought he could, but can be overpowered by bigger pfs)

I'd be curious to learn how many times in the past a number one pick and number two pick from the same draft have ever played on the same team at the same time.

As for Okafor, he's basically Dwight Lite. He's a similar-style player and he would offer us the same qualities as Dwight, just not as developed. Hedo is a proven commodity and if we give him up, it'd better be for something we don't already have.

Howard and Okafor in the paint is very impressive but loosing Hedo...
I prefer a sign and trade for Emeka than loosing Hedo next year for nothing.

I don't know how many times overall, but we've just seen it recently with Alonzo and Shaq.

I think Okafor has in some ways a more refined post up game and a decent jumper. He isnt the defender Howard is..but I think they would work well together. Probably only happen in a Video Game, but I would love to have them both.

I personally don't think he would be a good fit next to Dwight. He plays pretty similar to him but he is less talented. I wouldn't give Hedo up for him.

Are we crazy?

I gotta say I love the idea of Okafor on the team, but not at the expense of Hedo. Just not enough money to go around imo. This is where Lewis' deal kills us.

Lets not forget that Iverson and Camby played together on the same team in Denver. Iverson - 1 camby - 2.

This would be intriguing as hell. we would get every rebound, block every shot and win games 5-0. On a serious note, this I would do but Hedo was our best player last year. I think he will have an even better year this year, so yes how the heck will we keep him after this year. I think we can do better than Omeka for Hedo.
