What a beast. I heard Gortat tore off the arm of some Italian player and beat him with it.

actually it was the arm of a child in the crowd and he beat the refs with it...if you're going to bare his signature, at least get your facts straight...

Mark my words...Gortat will be our most improved player this season.

New starting lineup:

Nelson/Johnson
Peitrus/Lee
Lewis/Hedo
Howard/Cook
Gortat/Battie

Semi kidding

But really, why dont we sign this guy to an extension before the rest of the league and Gortat himself realize how much potential this guy has.

What kind of effect would it have on this team to start Gortat at center and move Howard to PF? Could it really be that bad? I know he is only just starting his career but I agree if he put this kind of numbers already what is he going to be like with another year under SVG and Patrick Ewing?

i'm as excited about Gortat as the next guy, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. there was a world championships a couple years back where Darko averaged like 25+ppg/10+rpg i believe (Peja wasn't playing this year). it was good to see, but we haven't really seen the fruits of that in the NBA yet.

let's maybe start with Gortat averaging 15-20mpg to start off with, rather than thrusting him into the starting lineup over someone like Hedo who, you know, only helped carry this team last year.

Darko could average 25/10/5 in this league today if he wanted to...

i don't know if you're kidding or not, but i don't think that's beyond him at all. i don't think he's on the cusp of it, but he's certainly got the pieces to put that puzzle together.

nope, pretty serious...i've witnessed his freakness in person, he has all the tools to be a nasty big man in this league, minus the mental abilities and the desire...

Darko has the skill set to be a top 5 center in this league, he just has the mentality of a little kid with A.D.D. who's throwing a tantrum.
