OT: The most useful OT thread ever

I was headed to work this morning and there was a cop that had pulled someone over in a turning lane that I was going to use. I pulled in and suddenly there were flashing lights behind me. When cop #2 got to my window, I asked why he pulled me over as I wasn't speeding at all (unusual for me). He told me I didn't move over into the far lane away from cop #1 and the guy he'd pulled over and that was a traffic violation due to the Move Over Act ($75 fine). He obviously didn't realize that I was turning just past where the other cop was pulled over, so I didn't get the ticket.

I hadn't been pulled over for a while and the experience got me thinking. If anyone is interested in avoiding traffic tickets in the future (and really who isn't), I've got some advice to help you out. With Halloween only a few months away, it's never too early to start thinking about a costume. I recommend you go as a nurse from your local hospital. After Halloween you should leave the nurse's uniform hanging in an obvious place in your car and if you're ever asked always respond "Yes, I'm a nurse at (insert name of closest hospital)." If you do this, you are unlikely to get a ticket in the future unless you do something really egregious since cops are loathe to give a ticket to a nurse that might just end up treating them should they ever be injured in the line of duty. Pretending to be a doctor or cop will also work, but those are much more difficult to pull off.

Anyone else have some useful advice for getting off a ticket or any other practical advice for your fellow realgmers?

note: inmate347 does not endorse lying to cops or stealing nurse's uniforms from the hospital (stealing attractive nurses is fine though)

you have to rush home for the bathroom that sometimes works find a friend at the local agency, my best friend is a lake county deputy and he gets me out of tickets every time. even in other counties.

Do what I do, carry around thiefs details and give them over when you get caught at 150mph.

He's none the wiser.

Thing is, Halloween nursing costumes look nothing like what actual nurses wear.

So, the cop is either likely to think that your lying to him to get out of a ticket, or lying to him because you're too embarrassed to admit that you're a transvestite stripper.

Either way...ticket.

I've already attacked both Dev and Ron in this one, but I think if I go after Glyde he'll throw a javelin at me. But damn this was a perfect setup :/

So...if we lie to a cop. That's OK? Sorry but if you break the law then it's your own fault. If the cop lets you off that's great. If not well then that's the breaks and you should deal with it.

Subjective laws yes. Fair laws no. Being a liar to escape the law. That's just low in my opinion.

Here's a good video about dealing with the cops. It's kind of long, but it might keep you out of jail someday.
