An expected move, that means no Powell must likely. I just hope i dont hear Adonal bitching about playing time again......

This also means that the Magic's next move will be getting that 3rd PG.

For a little under $800k out of pocket for a reserve center is an excellent signing (or re-signing). He brings a trait that none of the other bigs on our team can provide and thats a huge body, strength and the irrelavance to be able to foul without consequence to the team...lol that sounds like im kidding but im not.

Our only situational holes remaining are a mobile and athletic or bull type of big with a motor and offensive post scoring ability, Dwight is the only low post capability we have on the roster.

And we need some speed, slashing, athleticism and instant energy boost, with scoring punch or defensive disruption potential behind Nelson and Anthony Johnson.

A Josh Powell pickup with a Javaris Crittenton or a Shannon Brown type of combo guard would be looking so perfect as situational/developmental reserves right now.

SVG would have a player for ANY in game adjustment situation at every position at his disposal.
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

Foyle provided a post presence for us last season with his size and strength, held his own defensively on most nights and actually helped us maintain runs from time to time, Foyle is underrated by soo many fans, especially for the money, what did he cost us, like $800k? shoot man...Foyle in an NBA vet, Auggie had yet to become an NBA player...for each negative there is a positive with Foyle...

I think for a guy that will be on the bottom of the rotation, that you want an experienced player. You're not going to give a young player enough minutes to develop - look at Auggie last year. We already have one project already in Gortat.

If we can keep Adonal fresh enough for the post season, he'll be a lot more valuable than Auggie would/could be.

Note: I don't think Foyle is the best signing - more of a meh.

Plus with the money the NBA kicks back in for a Vet at the min, they effectively cost the same.

If the player is not an all-star or a borderline one that seems to be the case. This is especially true for blue collar guys. If they aren't a SportsCenter type of player they are underrated by many - certainly not all.

We're talking about the top .. what .. 0.1% basketball players in the world. If a guys is not a 10% talent in the NBA, he's a "scrub" to many around here.

Another big body for Dwight to beat on in practice instead of Battie.

Like a few others have stated, I'd rather have Foyle than Augustine IN THIS SITUATION, considering we're not rebuilding.

Foyle provides veteran leadership/locker room skills, which gives him an edge at his position on the depth chart.

I am glad the Foyle saga is over.

Minutes at the big will be scarse with the smaller lineup of Turk/Shard at the forwards and Tony Battie back.

Foyle brings a good practice player, lockeroom influence and good insurance in the frontcourt.

With it sounding like they only want 14 players this year, this pretty much leaves the third point guard spot and a possible trade of J.J. Redick or Keith Bogans so there is no one disgruntled with minutes.

Then again, Foyle is back so who knows.

meh

I like his character (and love his accent), but certainly not a fan of the player. :\

edit: well, at least this means I'll be able to draft him on a fantasy league like I did last year.... in the 9th round

Foyle was hoping that Boston would call him again (as he almost signed with them over us last season, ouch!), the lack of playing time in the playoffs had him upset as we all know, and Babby tried to hedge the bet on Boston again this season, didnt work out as they signed POB and now seem stagnant on the big man front at this time...

Real exciting to bring him back. Can't wait to watch him play in a Magic uniform again. NOT.

Who cares about Foyle?

So now that Foyle is back on our team that means we have a translator for Pietrus right? bad j/k

actually there are sometime where I have no idea what pietrus and foyle are saying in interviews I have seen.
Reporter - How do you feel about your first triple double?

Bo Outlaw - What is that some kind of cheeseburger?
