JJs Workouts at Duke

Post#1 » by RawTalent » Sat Aug 2, 2008 3:18 am

Found this on his site, good little workout, he's come a long way when he was could barely dunk without cramping up his senior year (his first of 2 dunks in his Duke Career).

man, he hasnt really gotten that much stronger in 2 years in terms of raw power, increasing your reps at the same weight from 6 to 15 is considered horrible in terms of athletic achievement...but, at least he's working out...i hope he blows up this year if he stays with us...

Well considering that video was done early in his training at Duke I can promise that he is in so much better shape. And since it seems you have forgotten what Redick's training regiment is here is what he posted about what he has been doing to improve his game:

It was nice but I started working out again the last week of May. By now, I have settled into my summer workout routine. Mondays are basketball work, lifting, and agility work. Tuesdays are Pilates, basketball, and conditioning. Wednesdays are basketball and lifting. Thursdays are basketball, agility, and Pilates. And I finish out the week on Fridays with basketball, lifting, and conditioning. Each workout takes about an hour. Essentially I’m working out three to four hours a day. And obviously, I’m working on a variety of things. I want to get stronger (weight room). I want to get quicker and get my hips stronger for defense (Pilates and hip agility work). I can always use more core strength and flexibility (Pilates). And of course, I’m working on my game trying to improve my ball-handling and scoring off the dribble.

It has been over a month since this was posted at his site and now he is continuing the training that he started at Duke to Orlando. Unlike his fellow teammates Redick only took a couple of weeks off the rest have been getting ready for the up coming season.

cougar13, congrats on figuring out the "bold" mechanic. Maybe soon you'll graduate all the way to the "quote" mechanic. It will make reading your posts so much more enjoyable.

Actually no counting Oct we are talking about 4 months of working to improve his game.
It sounds like Redick has the right recipe to making it in the NBA unlike some other person here who couldn't make it in the NBA. Sounds like someone is jealous.
And the other poster has posted the same attack garbage on so many different forums that he has lost his zing.

yeap, wicked jealous...you young lady to need to learn some manners, taking stabs at people for no reason...and also learn to discern an attack, from nothing more than a broad statement...

ps. i logged 5 million times the minutes overseas that JJ has logged in the NBA, I mean at least I got some serious play in during my career...

im not taking any sides here but that was pretty low cougar. someone decided to share a story about their tryouts with the NBA and you take the positive in that and make it into a negative. You need to lighten up. JJ is good for 10-20 mpg max and he'll get his 12ppg,3apg,and 1 rpg in that time.

Cougar had no point up until that quote from you. You know that you would give up any minutes overseas to get the minutes JJ has in the NBA. GIve him his due. Thats quite a side swipe yourself. Don't be hatin.

I still have hope for JJ. If we could add a big PG to play next to him (Crittenton/Livingston) he could definately be a scorer of the bench for us. If you look at it we don't have alot of bench scoring right now, JJ could fill that role. I hope he will..

That poster is worse. At least the darko lovers had a reason to hype up their boy, he played well sometimes and was a solid contributor to the team. So at there was a reason for the madness...(plus they were kinda funny too)

Redick?

Dude CANNOT GET OFF THE BENCH under 2 different head coaches in the league and he's coming off of FOUR years of college so in other words, he's was the most nba ready, but it seems like he's some project or something who can't play or get off the bench yet is 24 years old.

LOL i find myself typing this and even I myself am I redick supporter, but I'm having to bash him to bring some reality back to the homers.

He CANNOT PLAY DEFENSE. NO MATTER HOW "HARD HE TRIES" in training camp or how much "HES TRYING HARDER" no matter how many bs stories you read "HE'S IMPROVED AND SVG LIKES HIS EFFORT" (yet still won't play him....hmmm i wonder why?? )

He has physical limitations that will always be there, when he checks into the game, scrubs go at him and have success.

Otis Smith drafted a player who PLAYS HIS POSITION. Then goes out and SIGNS a player who also plays that position (ok he plays forward too, but mainly he will defend guards and thats what he's here for)

In his own words

"THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL"

OMG, now go get a quote of his that contradicts this to make your case look better, GO HURRY UP!!

actually better yet, GO REPEAT FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME how the magic have picked up his options!!

His cult followers will soon come to this realization soon....LMAO yeah right...in the meantime....

STAY CLASSY HOMER!! (thief> U)
