Yes, I currently have DirectTV and am looking at Dish Network. Are there any issues with Magic games on Dish? Or was that brighthouse only? Also will the Florida Sprots Network (FSN) be included for free with Dish? Or will it cost extra?

Also if it comes standard how much would it cost to get the magic games in HD?

This basketball forum is very distracting....I came here looking for the best deal in satellite TV and I'm bombarded with outlandish basketball discussions. I'll be writing Dish a letter.

TurboHD is GREAT. Problem is like with any "bandwidth" persay, the HD channels aren't ALL FULL HD. There in more clarity than other channels, however, going from one satellite to another it tends to lose some of it's clarity. I have a 50" HDTV and the football games and baseball looks great. I have had Dish since I moved to Orlando about a year or so ago when I got out of the Army. I never had a problem with the Magic games, a couple here and there, but the NBA LEAGUE PASS covered that. The best thing I discovered with Dish is NBA LEAGUE PASS HD. I would recommend Dish over DirectTV.

Oh by the way rurouniad, FSN I believe is apart of their sports tier which includes a lot of the FSN's. I'm not a 100% sure I'm trying to find my guide with all the tiers..

I don't see any issues with Magic games on SD/HD for Dish Network, I'll double check on that information for you Magic fans in Florida with the regional sports coverage and any possible issues with it.

The Turbo HD should also include your local regional sports coverage in the package when you get locals, I'll also get some information on that as well, the minimum for HD only of course is 24.99, if you wanted to get a standard definition package and get HD, you can go with the Top200 for 44.99 a month and add an HD package for 10 dollars a month, getting locals, your fox sports/sun sports in HD (If available), also you can add another 10 dollars and get the platinum package which includes 7 more channels including NBATV in HD.

For PR it's a little more interesting, mostly 61.5 HD ch are only available in PR but when I get to work I'll check on PR and what is available in that area.

Also Dish Network offers 1080P PPV, Dish On Demand downloads, like the ads say it's bluray quality, however you may want to have your receiver (Which at this time must be a 722HD or 622HD receiver) hooked up with an ethernet cable to high speed internet, otherwise it can take up to 72 hours to download a movie in 1080P

Ok.

Here is what my family would need.

The only channels of importance would be TNT, USA, Sci-Fi, FX, TBS, Cartoon Network, Nick, & Magic Games. We really don't need anything else. What would this combination cost us?

Also we would need a 3-4 room installation package. What would this cost us additionally?

Well rurouniad I would suggest the Top 100Plus (42.99) or the Top 200(44.99), and to be honest the better deal is Top 200 because well, it's only 2 dollars more and you get about 100 additional channels.

I say Top100Plus only because it includes your regional sports package (FSN/Sun), the regular Top100 does not. Also I assume you would want locals, you would tack on 5 dollars extra to the total. Sitting at about 47.99 with 100Plus, and 49.99 with Top200.

A 3-4 room install does depend on credit, so if your credit is at least average you should be able to get a 3-4 room install no problem at no additional cost.

I would almost suggest only getting the Turbo HD, but Nick is not available in HD yet for Dish Network at least, also Dish Network does have dual tuners, one box that controls 2 rooms, however the room that has the receiver is the only one that can view HD, the second TV location (TV2) coming off the box would see the HD ch as SD.

In reality only two of the TV's would be HD capable. So I'm not 100% concerned about it. The credit thing is the dark horse. I am supposedly average....lol. But I've been rejected for some things recently so who knows?

I had Dish before moving to an apartment in St Louis and being forced to get cable.

I loved Dish. The customer service can be spotty, but if you are persistent, they are willing to work with you. Wish I could still have it.

I have Dish and it's great.

I'd love to have Turbo HD. Then again, I'd need to have a hi-def TV to watch it on.

If you have a 4 room install, don't you also have to pay extra for the additional boxes?

If you have a 4 room install, and have four single receivers then the first receiver is free, every additional one after that would be 5 dollars a month.

However if you have 2 dual tuners (which control 4 TV locations in the home) it would only be an extra 5 dollars for the second dual tuner. However, with dual tuners you are charged a programming access fee for each dual tuner if you do not have a phone line in the dual tuners. The point of that is, by plugging the phone lines into the dual tuners you can save yourself 10 a month because if you had the four single receivers you're charged the 5 dollars per receiver (except the first one) no matter what.

Hope you're not confused!

Ive been with dishnetwork since last October, I have several issues with them. One lesson I learned was if you can make sure the installation people are from Dishnetwork and not subcontracts, cause they will most likely screw things up and you will have to reschedule again the correct the mistakes. Second, we have been having horrible weather here the past two months and the TV outage was very very frustrating. Third, My box had issues. Every time I would TIVO magic games, after fast forwarding the commercials Id press play and it would skip like 30 secs and ruined a lot of games for me. I called the customer service and a bimbo said there was nothing they could do about it. Thinking such is life, I called again, an older very professional lady apologized and had my box replaced and life is now beautiful. Now I can see the action at the same time as the score instead of the other way around. Ofcourse when its not rainging here. Im in Melbourne beach. The quality however, is exceptional and the clarity is very noticable.

Well i'll make note of that $5 dollar a month fee. This the 200 channel option. Does that include the sport package in question for the Magic games?

As far as the tuners. Yeah I am following you. Problem is it locks up other locations to the same channel which could be an issue. But so far you are cheaper then our current contract.

If I have any questions i'll continue to use you as my inside man.

Also I just thought of this. Are you aware of Embarq's deal with Dish Networks? Supposedly they have a special going for internet phone and dish. What are the details of this?

So is the dual tuner more expensive than a single tuner?

The AT200 does include your regional sports coverage, if you're asking if it covers all games then I would have to say no, they do have Sunshine Network and FSN Florida, if they do not air on there then I suppose you would get the NBA League Pass.

Dish Network does partner through Embarq, you can get the whole phone and internet bundle for a discount. You would have to call in to a partner account or Embarq about packaging with Dish Network.

By the way, dual tuners, you can watch your own independent programming on each tuner location on one box. So of course, you have TV1 where the receiver is, and TV2 where the SD TV location would be.

No, it's the same unless you get a DVR Dual Tuner, which there is a 5.98 a month charge, one of the least expensive DVR rates.
