Delonte West

Should we pursue Delonte West??
With the Cav's bringing in Mo Williams it probably means that they most likely wont be paying DWest what he wants. So maybe we could trade Bogans or Redick 4 West in a S&T....?
Why would we do it??? West is a combo guard who could give us some much needed insurance @ the 1 and can also slide up play the two if needed. Good shooter, plays tough defense, and im sure he would be happy to re-unite with Jameer. He could easily fill Doolings role and more imo.
Why would the Cav's do it??? The Cav's are just happy to get something back for the disgruntled DWest. They can definitely use another shooter, and JJ or Bogans are just that. Plus, Redick or Bogans both expire shortly so it's not a long term commitment on their part. They can take a gamble on JJ for one year, and if he doesn't pan out, he comes off the books. Maybe we throw them a 2nd round pick for their troubles........
Thoughts?

I know it's definitely not a balanced trade. We would clearly be getting the better end of the deal, but if he and Cleveland cant come to terms, I dont think a s&t is out of the question with them. $$$, and the fact that we are both among the top teams in the same conference, are probably why this has zero chance of actually happening, but if Otis could somehow pull it off then he would be the man.

I'm not a big fan of Delonte West. But I would still take him.
But it's still unlikely.

I dont think they would take Bogans and Redick for him. I do not hold Bogans in high regard and JJ who knows but he hasent done anything yet. I think it would take alot more to get West and i dont want to give up alot for him since I dont see him as a huge upgrade already having Pietrus and Lee.

I would want West for Bogans and Redick but that is extremely unlikely and anything more than that is a reach in my opinion for another guy who is similar in certain aspects to Jameer. I am sure West wants a lot of money as well and we definitely do not have any of that.

S&T Bogans for Delonte. I like the double point guard game. Hed be a good sixth man. A St. Joes reunion.

I would like to have him on the team. It gives us the 3 PG rotation that SVG like to use.

like many have said: he'd be great if we got him as a straight up swap for Bogans, on signed for Bogans' type money. but financially we're strapped (i believe), and i'm not sure what kind of money he wants, or what kind of role he'll accept if he has to settle for less money.

I read that he's probably going to play next year in Russia.

We can't offer him anything. Perhaps we could talk sign and trade. Otis bringing in a PG that could actually beat out Nelson is not going to happen. I think he would beat him out if on the same squad. Offensively they are pretty similar. Defensively West is a much better player.

ur right jameer would have been

. Either way I dont want him, honestly I'd be afraid that that herpes crap on his lip would spread throughout the team. Maybe thats why hes been on three teams in five years. It just creeps everyone out.

West is a very solid player, he stepped up his PG game pretty big last year and he was fairly effective in the Cavs sets...He's a good defender and he's 6'3 not >6'0...has a smooth stroke and he can block shots fairly proficiently for a PG...what's not to like? would be a blessing to have him as a backup PG on this team...It would be asinine to label West a bad player...
