ORLANDO -- Fresh off his winning a gold medal with Team USA, Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard will be in Los Angeles on Wednesday to film a commercial for McDonald's.

The commercial, which will likely begin airing early the NBA season in October, could include the Superman T-shirt and red, flowing cape that Howard wore back in February when he won the NBA's Slam Dunk competition.

Howard, who averaged 10.9 points and 5.8 rebounds in Team USA's eight Olympic wins, is also expected to be featured in a major advertising campaign by Adidas for the upcoming season. Howard has been a lower-level spokesman for Adidas since coming into the NBA in 2004.

Howard, 22, won't return to Central Florida until this weekend and he's expected to make an appearance at his kids camp. The Saturday-Sunday camp for ages 7 through 18 will be held at the Magic's headquarters at RDV Sportsplex. More information on the camp can be found at http://www.dwighthowardcamp.com.

he better be talking about healthy food at McDonald's, if that exists, lol.

edit: all I can picture is Dwight wearing the cape, taking off with a lone nugget in his hand. He leaps and dunks the nugget into a little thing of sweet & sour sauce. MMMMMM!!!

Happy for Dwight...he really deserves this kind of stuff...but man, just what we dont need any more of in this country, advertisement which will appeal to the children and in turn instill acceptance and glorification of these types of foods...so sad, depressing really...I'm against the product, but again, wicked happy for Dwight....the Adidas commercial will be special...

It looks like Dwight has been "discovered" and will be making more money off the court than on.

Speaking of VitaminWater....They were giving away free samples at one of the Publix stores out near UCF yesterday, and they had a company truck out there. It's painted with an image of Dwight and it says it's fueled by "Dwight Power.'' I thought that was pretty cool. Let's just hope Dwight doesn't let this distract from his game. It's going to be a challenging season.

One good thing bout the McDonald's ad,(if done as the article mentions) it will cement Dwight's nickname as "Superman" . Definitely one of the coolest nicknames in the NBA

The commercials are really awful, but just out of curiosity I tried one of the sandwiches. After all, I think their grilled chicken sandwiches are decent. But this thing was not good at all.
